Holmstrom and Drake.

Everyone else got at least a 5th place vote... that is pretty incredible. Not sure who voted Hudler as #5 though :) I think it was NN that commented Hudler tied Fedorov and Draper in Selke voting this year!

Hah.

Holmstrom's a no -brainer.

Anyone who knows anything about him will know there is no way in this world or the next or even in some other galaxy out there which may or may not exist - lol - anyone will ever even think of Holmstrom and selke trophy being mentioned in the same breath or in the same sentence.

Unfortunately yes, because he was considered by many to be the best player in the world for several years. Also, he has the hardware to show for it and the international accomplishments.

The fact that he's a piece of trash who should get hit by a beer truck is not something the voters will consider.

fedorov absolutely destroys peter forsberg in every conceivable category. if forsberg should even be considered than it means fedorov is a 1st ballot lock.

Forsberg has a much higher PPG, but he has been in the league for less and sits out most of the season nowadays. While Forsberg is no slouch defensively, and has received many Selke votes, Fedorov is definitely superior defensively.

As great as Fedorov has been in the playoffs, however, Forsberg has been better:

Forsberg: 151gp 64g 107a 171pts

Fedorov: 169gp 51g 117a 168pts

Forsberg is a very clutch player and his playoff and international play is amongst the best. I used to be literally scared every single time he touched the puck when he was playing against the Wings.

I think Fedorov is better, but not nearly as much as you think...

Bossy Trottier and Fedorov are the only players in NHL history to score 20pts in 4 consecutive post seasons

Forsberg never scored over 30 goals in a season. he hit 30 twice.

Fedorov exceeded 30 goals 10 times. and he has a 50 goal season.

fedorov scored 1.9 goals for every one of forsbergs and played 1.7 games for every 1 of forsbergs.

of the awards that one has that the other doesnt

Forsberg has an art ross and a calder

Fedorov has pearson and a selke

however, forsbergs rookie year was worse than fedorovs, and nobody wouldve beaten belfour in calder voting in 1991.

and finally, fedorov was much much much better defensively than forsberg. He even played D for the wings and the blue jackets.

forsberg is no slouch, as you stated, but he also is no fedorov.

im not trying to say forsberg isnt HHOF worthy or anything, and i was scared when he had the puck too, but i just think Fedorov is has been better than forsberg and still is better than forsberg, and only in forsbergs prime was he better than fedorov statistically.

It's Holmstrom and Kopecky, actually. Draper was listed twice in error, once (the tie with Hudler) was actually Drake.
