is he tarnishing his legacy with this ongoing saga/drama? To me he is and needs to hang them up and get a desk job with the Avs .. How can a guy want to keep doing this ? and to say that "if this doesnt work He's going to consider retireing " how many times has that came up .. im thinking its about 9-10 times

Didn't everyone want him around the trade deadline..... how funny things change. Heck I might have even said I want him here.

I was one of those that wanted him at the deadline but that was due to the fact that the Wings had the Cap room at the deadline to acquire him and it couldn't have hurt the Wings had he gone down. The fact of the matter is that Forsberg is a bonafide playoff performer and if you could add him to your lineup without losing anyone in return and still keep your team under the cap for the season, it makes plenty of sense to do it. If he goes down, then you're in the same situation you were in before.

Have to admire his dedication to the game at least. Yeah he should hang 'em up, but if he comes back again he should be considered for the masterson award imho. And believe it or not, I gained a lot of respect for him when he said he wouldn't sign with the wings because of the rivalry. That's bad ass.

Ahhh remember when the Wings were rumored to be looking at him last summer I believe it was, and I think the trade deadline of the 06-07 season. Thank god that never happened.

I wanted him here during the deadline. Why? Because he was no-risk. If the Wings had signed him and he got hurt, the team lost nothing but money -- no picks, prospects, or other assets. The Wings wanted him too, but he turned their offer down.

Enough already. His body clearly is telling him to hang 'em up -- but the truly great ones have a harder time walking (or hobbling) away from the game they love. I despised Patty Wahhh, but he did know when it was time to retire from the NHL, to his credit.

Forsberg will have a starring role in Swedish hockey for the rest of his life, in a role of his choosing, I suspect. If he can't end his career as an Av, he should be content to stay in Sweden and pass his knowledge on to the next generation.

It is hard to realize your limitations due to an injury - especially with the ankle injury/injuries he has suffered...

I feel for him - he has the passion to play, yet a small, but vital part of him body can not withstand the normal daily routines of hockey...

f*** Forsturd! Never liked him, never wanted him. Zetts > Forsberg.

What does Z being > Forsberg have anything to do with bringing him in at the deadline as a FA given the cap situation the Wings were in last season?

Nobody's arguing the Forsberg is > than Z.

This guy has got the biggest hockeyheart on earth so just shut up already, he's gonna try this last time to fix it, the doctors finally know whats wrong with it, it's a muscle in the foot which change size when its in a skate and that makes him loose balanse, and everyone would get the groin problems when they havent played a game for 1 year... so if this special-custom-made-program works for him let him sign with the avs after christmas, it will only be fun for us wing fans... and if it doesn't work im 100% sure he will retire, he's had the problems for 5years now and its just recent months that they understood the real issue.

He was such a force 10 years ago during the big rivalry of Red Wings and Avalanche. I felt a little sorry for him during the sweep of this year's playoffs. I mean as much as I can be sorry for a player of a rival team and considering that it's only his career that's in danger, not his life.

Forsberg's "hockeyheart" was never, ever larger than Yzerman's.

Oh talk about nit-picking.

In any case I just want the media to stop the circus around this guy. It got old 3 years ago...

I don't care about the deadline, I wasn't responding to your post specifically, just saying in general, IMO Zetts > turdboy.
