Turkey 0 Report post Posted July 17, 2008 I seem to recall seeing a Det/Toronto game w/ Gordie Howe on ESPN classic just a few years back. Somehow anything that happened less than 10 years ago doesn't seem that classic to me. Maybe we need a new channel called ESPN Not That Terribly Long Ago. StevieY9802 6 Report post Posted July 17, 2008 (edited) well I have the game on vhs at home, cbc and abc feed so not a big deal to me. Might watch the end game 5 pistons/blazers though. Vinnie's shot with 0.7 left! Edited July 17, 2008 by StevieY9802

Yak19 303 Report post Posted July 17, 2008 (edited) Watched the 3rd period and i got chills when i seen Yzerman and Shanahan celebrating the clinching empty net goal, Hasek jumping around, Robitaille, it just brought back memories from not too long ago. Hopefully Fischer decides to come back one day. Edited July 17, 2008 by Yak19
omnipotent_hudler 0 Report post Posted July 17, 2008 god watching the end of 02 just makes losing in game 5 this year that much more bitter I mean I'm glad we won but christ, 30 seconds, 30 seconds
NeverForgetMac25 483 Report post Posted July 17, 2008 This can't be true! ESPN hates hockey! They must just be showing the Pistons game twice rather than a Wings and a Pistons Game.
Dano33 41 Report post Posted July 17, 2008 I remember the '96 double overtime game between Detroit and St Louis. Now THAT is a classic. Funny you should mention that. I have one of those red wings desk calendars in which you tear off the page each day, and that was the trivia question for today, however with one MAJOR flaw. Which Red Wing scored the series-clinching double-overtime goal to defeat CHICAGO in Game 7 of the 1996 Western Conference Semifinal? Are you kidding me? I was furious when i read it, at least they had the answer right.

That's the boat I was in. Bitter doesn't do the feeling justice.
