Yes. They said he won't return and that they decided "not to release more info at this time". Very bad sign.

Or maybe with all the swelling that is probably around his knee from a collision like that, nothing can be determined until they get an MRI. He walked off under his own power to the locker room.

Let's all cry about how we're playing .. let's do that..

We're 5-1-1 and fifth in the league... nothing will ever be good enough for some of you.

Suck it up, take what you've got and be thankful you're not a Leafs fan.

I love it when people come out carrying the bag of numbers.

When you wear the Winged Wheel, its different than wearing any other jersey. When you put on that jersey, you make a commitment to excellence. You make a commitment to teamwork. You make a commitment to doing the best you can with what you have. Now take a look at the Wings organization from top to bottom. Players, Coaches, Trainers, Owners, Managers - its all stacked with talent, knowledge and know-how.

The fact that people are upset with the way the Wings are performing has nothing to do with wins and losses. It has everything to do with lost leads, poor defensive coverage and all-around subpar performance. We're not upset about not winning games by huge margins or earning shutouts at every other turn, but those of us who are angry are upset because you have a group of people hired to do their job - which is to entertain us, by the way. There is no intrinsic value to the game of hockey unless you market it as a form of entertainment - and they're doing it well below the level we know they all can.

If I hired Wolfgang Puck to be my chef and he was performing like a McDonald's grill master, then I'd be a little pissed. Thats what we have here. If this were the Leafs, then our expectations wouldn't be as high, and rightfully so.

We have a 5-1-1 record and people are jumping ship. I know we haven't played to the Red Wing standard, but my God, some of you people are showing that you are bandwagon fans or didn't start watching the Wings until 2002, hell, even 1996.

The guys are sluggish, they are still emotionally drained from the Stanley Cup run. They'll get better, stop freakin' out so much.

Do you know how to read? Nobody is "jumping ship." We are simply commenting on our play thus far, which has not been up to standard. We are all Wings' fans, and if your is playing below par, why is it all of a sudden wrong to be concerned? Quit exaggeration people's comments. We aren't playing good, and some fans are taking notice. That's all.

The only thing worse than complaining is people who complain about complaining.

The way Franzen looked when he walked off the ice I'd be VERY surprised if he's gone for the season, or even a few months.

Of course, knee injuries are tricky and I never enjoy seeing someone get one, but I'm thinking it's more of a precaution to not play him anyomore tonight.

*crosses fingers*

Btw, yes, we're playing very bad defensively, but I'm starting to see some potential in the offense. The first line is starting to find eachother and the Power Play actually looks as good or even better than last season.

If the defense still looks like this after 20 or 30 games, I'd start to worry.

Did you watch the same games I did? Almost, if not all, of our wins were decided by one goal. We BARELY pulled off those wins and had to be CONSTANTLY bailed out by our goaltenders. So, yes, it is completely legitimate that some of us fans are......concerned......to say the least.

Last year wasn't a spectacular beginning either. Sure we're not playing up to Red Wings standard you like Babcock said you have to WORK hard to be rewarded and they just haven't been working hard yet.

nice to see the wall get one

I feel bad for the mule seeing him so angry leaving the ice, it's really unfortunate that every time he gets on a roll, he gets injured, but f*** he came back from a bruised ******* brain, a knee can't hold him down!
