Crosby hurt as Coyotes beat Penguins

"I had some discomfort," said Crosby, who left the game with less than 5 minutes left in the second period. "I decided that in the third period, it didn't seem like I could do much."

What happened to Crosby is unclear. Television replays showed Crosby skate to the Penguins bench, sit down with a grimace and try to collect himself.

Per team policy, the Penguins did not disclose details of Crosby's injury. Neither did Crosby.

"Honestly, I don't even know what happened," Crosby said. "I have to look at the tape. I haven't seen anything yet."

The Penguins have lost two straight.

"The system's only 50 percent of the game," Penguins coach Michel Therrien said. "After that, the players have to play hard. It's an excuse."

Probably nothing, but interesting nonetheless.

Oh god, if Crosby is taken out of play for a chunk of time yet again I think I'll have more Penguins-related shadenfreunde then I can handle.

A severe of broken ego, with complications from a gerbil accident from his time at Lemuix's house (as per team rules they cant disclose the extent or cause of this injury, but it does flair up whenever he sits down).

With less than five minutes left in the second period, Sidney Crosby caught a whiff of casserole from a local eatery.

"It reminded me of..." I waited half an hour for the crying to stop. "...mommy," he finally finished.

Per team policy, the Penguins are not disclosing what kind of casserole set Sid the Kid into this fetal nostalgia, and neither is Crosby. "All I can say is, God, the broccoli." Replays showed that he appeared to say more, but it was masked by the whimpering.

"Per team policy, the Penguins did not disclose details of Crosby's injury. Neither did Crosby."

Since when was this a Penguins policy? Last year when he hurt his ankle, we all knew it was his ankle. They didn't want to hide it from everyone. But now they are keeping it.

He's injured and he doesn't even know how. It makes it sound like he didn't want people to get on his case for not carrying his team to victory, so he acted hurt for his excuse. And then when he comes back and plays in the next game, he will be praised by the NHL for pushing past pain.

My vote is still that he hurt himself diving...or he was pouting and decided to try and take his ball and go home because the Yotes were being mean and not letting him win.

Well, I remember when Lemieux did that. At least Crosby stayed on the bench, whereas Lemieux just walked off the ice, into the dressing room and disappeared without letting anyone know where the hell he went. :P
