Here's why I don't put much stock in the takeaway and giveaway stats. Last game against the Pens, Dats had two clear (and uncharacteristic) giveaways, but he's only registered with one.

Yet tonight they say he's got two giveaways already?? He and Lidstrom are the only Wings with recorded giveaways, at two a piece.

I guess Lilja's floater up the middle doesn't constitute a giveaway?

I have a problem with the cutting down of the team. I think it's legitimate to be frustrated when you know they aren't living up to their potential but there's a line between that and being well "$#$@%, @##%# Red Wings #%^&% suck now, they are embarrassing" and pointing out what could be done better. I don't know how you can love the team and treat them like crap like that, honestly.

But I think that it's more of just loving winning..being addicted to the feeling of winning and always wanting that first time feeling again.

I'm only bringing this up at the fact that people wonder about any optimism by fans...this is why, because some of us actually like the team.

I am simply amazed at how "composed" the lightning have played tonight. No penalties nearly 1/2 way through the game. Impressive

I don't know where I have been for the last 10 years I have watched hockey, but I did not know that Melrose played for the Wings.
