YoungGuns1340 1 Report post Posted November 18, 2008 Awesome all around effort. Took 16 games to get it done, but Red Wings hockey was here for 60 minutes! TONS of battles won tonight.
CrossoverThrash 0 Report post Posted November 18, 2008 I absolutely killed in fantasy, especially if they give mule an assist on the 1st one
edicius 3,269 Report post Posted November 18, 2008 Is anyone else surprised that we didn't get absolutely boned by penalties in the 4rd?

Rivalred 630 Report post Posted November 18, 2008 OMG PINCH ME IS THIS FOR REAL! SOLIIIID GAME Edmonton helped that along as they did not play the best.
Rivalred 630 Report post Posted November 18, 2008 Is anyone else surprised that we didn't get absolutely boned by penalties in the 4rd? Especially when hockey only has 3 periods, not 4.

Rivalred 630 Report post Posted November 18, 2008 First complete effort all season. Great to see! Indeed, but you have to admit there were a few 2-1's back to back and Edmonton missed the net.
Guest Shoreline Report post Posted November 18, 2008 Is anyone else surprised that we didn't get absolutely boned by penalties in the 4rd? It seems the tone of the game is set early with the refs making outrageously stupid calls, then they just put their whistles away. Btw, I'm not so pedantic about "4rd" as some others are. It's very clear what you meant.

Matt 1,049 Report post Posted November 18, 2008 Indeed, but you have to admit there were a few 2-1's back to back and Edmonton missed the net. I'm not expecting perfection, just a hard 60-minutes of work. I think that everyone that watched the game can attest to that.

D played a lot better and there were no silly turnovers. Just happy they missed the net. If any of those went in, not sure how the rest of the game would of played out. The Mule 0 Report post Posted November 18, 2008 I had some friends over tonight to watch the game, which explains my absence from this thread, but that was a hell of an effort by the Wings. Conklin was great (and it was awesome to see him pick up his first shutout in a Red Wings jersey), the team worked hard, and McCarty proved he can still throw 'em when he's fired up. Here's to hoping Babcock rides the hot hand and gives Conklin another start on Thursday. We didn't get any production out of some of our superstars (Hossa and Datsyuk), but we still proved we can dominate games using secondary scoring and a lethal power play. This is the team I've been waiting to see all season.

Vladiator 116 Report post Posted November 18, 2008 Finally 60 minutes of RW hockey. Wow, our top line didn't even have a point. Almost every Oiler was -1 for the game. Nice not to have a nail biter for once.
