Wow, one of the Red Wings are going to get injured... they clearly, under Hitchcock's leadership, have a gameplan to destroy Red Wings in the physical department. Filpulla and company are about to lose their heads to Boll and Torres checks.

Is it too early for me to say........ TOLD YOU SO? =)

Shouldn't you be in bed Gramps?

f*** off, refs.

Let Lilja lay a beatdown.

Is this a joke? I've never seen Lilja lay down a beatdown... he's probably the worst example of a big guy TRYING to fight in the League.

This is when replay on diving calls should become part of the game. Drapper got robed

Instead of part of the game, I think it should be reviewed after the game. It would slow it down too much to try and monitor as the game goes on. But the league could take a look at dives like that and fine players after the fact, no matter what the call was at the time.

By diving they're showing up the refs and embarrassing the league. It'd still be a bad penalty in the game, but I think as word gets out players are getting fined, refs are going to think twice before blowing the whistle next time that guy hits the ice.

Did anyone see that? Did Boll actually dive?

Couldn't tell from the angles that the Wings broadcast showed. Looked like two hits on him and he went down. Maybe Mickey saw something I didn't. Then again, I don't see where the penalty was either.

He's all we've got. He may be a joke, but daggnabbit, he's OUR joke.

And he's TRYING, which is more than can be said for a number of others out there. He's sticking up for our boys.

Go Pain Train!

Z!

They've got to take a look at hits like those. That's more than interference. It's a cheapshot. In open ice the guy has to actually be making a play on the puck or have made a play before you can hit him. It can't just be that the puck is flying past him.

I agree to a certain extent on that. That play when Flip got crunched was telegraphed by Lilja and Flip. Anyone near that play could have seen a suicide pass was coming from Lilja to Flip and unfortunately Flip got charged and hit with an interference crunch-check. Lucky for us no one was injured and we got a PP Goal out of that.

Lilja is gonna have to drop the gloves later me thinks and hopes

Reason #1 Wings need an enforcer.

A) Lilja is HAVING to pretend to enforce while the stars get run nonstop.

B) Lilja our lead penalty killer runs the risk of instigator and being charged extra 2 min and game misconduct.

WAKE UP WINGS, they need Downey up. Torres and Boll wouldn't be having as much fun out there .

that may be too much to ask. Maybe add it into the idea of a "challenge" like the NFL. (I'd say you get a delay of game if you're wrong rather than lose the lone TO)

Actually, as I've said before, I have to give Lilja a lot of credit for trying to fight at this level when he's clearly never been a fighter.

He's dropping the gloves with guys who have been doing it a long time in an elite league. There's a good chance you're going to get your ass handed to you, but he's trying.

So CBJ fell right into the grand scheme of things that Holland and Company have said they are going to do, which is to draw penalties and capitalize on the powerplay. So let's see, one of our guys gets crunched by an illegal hit, our player gets right back up, they get a penalty, and we score on the ensuing powerplay...I'm happy with the outcome, which again, was our player not getting injured or even hurt, and capitalizing on the ensuing powerplay.

It's unfortunate for Lilja, it's an unfair spot for him to be put in. He cannot fight, he knows this, but he's the biggest guy on the team and feels obligated. Wrong of Holland and Babcock.

LOL... You're funny. You buy into the "Powerplay is our enforcer" b.s. huh? Sad sad man.

It's 1-1 against an inferior team last I checked, seems the Jackets have it figured out just fine... Sad boy.
