Is there an ETA on Holmstrom?

Update from Tuesday's practice: Wings coach Mike Babcock nixed Tomas Holmstrom's plans of returning to the lineup Thursday against Vancouver.

"He's not playing Thursday,'' Babcock said. "Piet (trainer Van Zant) hasn't told me that he's even on the horizon. Anytime it's a back -- I have a bad back every day of my life, so I know about it -- we got to be real careful and intelligent how we handle it.''

This will come as news to Holmstrom, who minutes before, said: "Thursday for sure, unless I have a setback. If it feels really good tomorrow, why not? No reason not to go.''

Holmstrom has missed seven games with back spasms. Babcock said he didn't know when he would return to the lineup.

so how do we not have money for call ups? We've had some larger contracts out for a while: Homer/Mule/Cleary. Or is there other reasons why we haven't looked at the youth?

Either way lets hope last game was just the begining of the Wings going back on top

We should be well-rested for tonight's contest, and I'm hoping we can build off our strong performance against Anaheim and move forward. The Canucks have given us some trouble early this season, but I think we'll see a stellar performance from the Wings tonight.

With that said, Detroit takes this one 4-1 on goals by Zetterberg, Cleary, Lidstrom, and Hudler. Is it confirmed that Ozzie is starting tonight? He was much better in his last outing, so if that's the case, consider it fine by me.

Lets do it, boys.

In the MLive article linked above, if you read further down (not quoted in the thread) it says that Babcock stated that Osgood would be in goal.

Let's do it, indeed.

Nice GDT Hockeytown0001. Love the pictures you always post, always very interesting!

I'll be listening on the good old radio hoping the Wings can get a win and hoping just as badly Filppula scores another goal. At this point I'd take a point.

its december 4th and im still waiting to see a convincing Wings victory.

guys?

Really? We dominated the Ducks last game, and despite the tight margin, we played excellently, which included hitting two or more posts and a few extraordinary saves by Giguere.

And one I don't think he saw and made the save on!
