If you could change one CURRENT NHL team's logo back to a previous, which team would it be and why?

Just something for fun, instead of all the WE NEED A GOALIE threads and so forth.

I would have to go with the Anaheim Ducks.

There purple and teal jerseys were amazing, and that logo was such a classic. I know some people call it the Disney duck and all that jazz. However, I think that jersey and logo were so sharp and so unique in the NHL. Everything about that jersey set and logo were perfect. Plus it reminds me of the good old days with Karyia and Selanne. (and Fedorov )

So what team does everyone else pick?

For teams that haven't changed location, I'd say Ottawa. The old 2D senator was waaaay better.

I wish Hartford never moved to Carolina though because the Whalers logo was one of my favourites and the 'Canes logo sucks.

They each have the same design with the stripes running down the side of the jersey making them all look the same, just different colors and logos.

I do like the original Ducks jersey's too. But if they had to change logos and names, I thought that they should have dumped the Ducks portion of it and just be called The Mighty. There's a helluva lot you can do with that. But maybe it sounds a bit too 4rth grade basketball.

I actually like their third jersey from 2003, black and purple with the stylized script "Anaheim". Has nothing to do with their mascot but it looks way better than what they have now.

I also think the teams that exploited every option on the RBK jerseys (Colorado, St. Louis, Nashville, et al) should go back to their previous styles.

+1 on the Sabres and Senators.

My pick is the Canucks. I don't like the orca "C" and prefer the white "stick-in-rink" logo best. That and it brought them some postseason luck against the Stars in '07. Completely dropping the "Vancouver" from the jersey is assumed.

I too would like to see some of the old franchises like the Jets, Whalers, Northstars, and Nordiques jersies to make an appearance from time to time.

But I think a few of the teams in the league have done a good job shedding some of their colors and logos. The top of my list is probably the Canucks, going from that yellow and black to their current colors. I thought that jersey and logo was just hideous. Also NJ getting rid of that Christmas color jersey, and Phoenix with their Christmas tree looking logo.

But I would like to see the current Kings jersey go away, and go back to the black jersies. Not a real fan of their third jersey.

Bad jokes/kidding aside, while I did like Buffalo's black/red/white look from the late 90s/early 2000s, if they want to keep the blue and yellow look I'd go back to what they did before they go to black/red/white.

That's pretty much it in terms of logos.

In terms of jerseys, I'd dismantle Atlanta's powder blue jerseys with the number just on one side and go back to their navy blue jerseys with the red/crimson side colors. Truth be told I kinda like their current 3rd jersey.

I'd also get rid of the skinny stripes running down the jerseys of Florida, St Louis, Nashville, and Colorado and such. It just looks a bit tacky especially when you have a C or A over one of the stripes.

I'm more to prefer solid colors or just one or a few colors.

Honestly, I'm still not a fan of the Reebok sweaters because they look cheap and the designs don't flow well at all. Since the question was about logos though, I'd have to say the Penguins. I can't stand that gold color. Just go back to the bright yellow and black logo of the 70s and 80s.

I always saw that jersey as a complete joke, but I was one of those that hated the idea of a Disney team in the NHL. I can see where you are coming from though.
