Inexplicably, I'm inclined to agree with you. We beat the teams we shouldn't...and don't beat the teams we should.

But surely you can agree, that at full health, there's no such thing as a team we shouldn't beat.

Just want Mike Babcock and perhaps Ken Holland to act, act now and fast! It's obvious that very fundamental things such as work ethic, Defense, Goaltending and even today Offense is a major problem...Something needs to be done...If it's a trade, linechange, bench a few star players who don't play well enough, send messages to the team, make them "suffer" doesn't matter just make it STOP.

How do we make you stop?

It's ONE loss. Settle down for goodness sake.

Of our five losses three of them were against the hottest teams this year and we probably weren't expected to win very easily.

Leafs

Sharks

Canadians

Bruins

Stars

Not to say that we can't win next week. But it isn't going like it has been the past couple years where we lose alot of our games to teams that we probably should have handled easily.

Ah, but you forget...we've lost 9 games, not just 5. But those OTLs were to teams like the Canucks, Ducks, etc. So, true, your point does still stand there.

I guess there's no real pattern to go by. I don't know, I just want consistency.

my god, we looked ok out there Turco played great, and our offense couldn't click. 2 weeks ago people were crying about D and some said if we lose at least let it be a low scoring game, well...

The only thing low-scoring about it was the Red Wings total. The Stars still potted 3 goals. And you're forgetting the most important part of this game - IT WAS THE STARS.

29th in GAA, 15th in GF, 28th on the PK, 28th on the PP, worst team in the western conference, starting a goaltender with worse stats than Osgood, and with injuries to FIVE key players.

I'm not really sure where this "our defense has improved" bit has come from. A few nights ago we let in four goals, two of which were the direct result of defensive errors.

 Yeah, for the last two or three years at least that was the way it went. We'd coast through teams that we were in a tight points race with at the top of the standings and then we just couldn't buy a point against some crappy, bottom of the barrel team like Florida or something. But unfortunately that trend seemed to have come to an abrupt halt this season.

I suppose that is the magic "parody" Bettman has been wanting in the league all these years.

and just since I had the stats page open already, our OT losses were

Canucks

Ducks

Penguins

Canucks

Damn this will get embarassing on thursday when they hos the sharks... ugh... i dont think i can watch that game

Dude- you've got to be kidding. The Wings know what Thursday's game means. We're going to see an awesome effort out of them in that game. Bank on it. Last Sharks win was a hard fought game but the Wings had just played the f***s. Similarly, this Thursday's game will be on the end of a Shark back to back.

All I know is, the two best teams in this league without a doubt are the Bruins and the Sharks. And we've managed a collective 1.5 GF average against them so far. If that keeps up, we'll know where we stand.

the truth is we did not play great. I really hope Babcock to put ZDH line together back as the last season because they really worked one of the best in the league last year. I actually did not watch the game but I heard from my friend that Wings powerplays were pretty bad. The thing is at the beginning of the season, our PP was amazing but last few games, our PP has been awful.

Lately, I think PK has been good, the percentage is low because at the beginning, our PK was just horrible.

Datsyuk somehow does not look in the recent. Great individual skill but somehow looks lost.

Still, I think Wings need more efforts like last year

Oh stop it. The Stars are far from the worst team in the Western conference- they just have the worst record. Rebiero, Mikey and Richards are legitimate top line players- maybe not clicking lately, but stop being so absurd.

And Turco's an allstar goalie that's been playing like s*** this season- that doesn't mean he can't step up and steal games (he had some pretty good stops tonight).

You're acting like they're the Blue Jackets. They've been playing like crap, but they're not a crap team. Tonight they played better than us.

The D didn't seem that bad. A couple of bad plays led to some tough goals against; Conklin had no chance on Brunnstrom's, though I thought he maybe could have nabbed the other guy's.

Bottom line, I didn't think the Wings passing game was working well at all. Dallas did a superb job of keeping us out of their zone on the rush.
