At this point (and I'll prob. get flamed for this) I'd rather have our defense of last season then Hossa this season.

Stuart was hitting people, Lilja was a monster on the PK, and Z and Dano had alot of jump tonight. That's the positive, lets not dwell on that poor effort and look forward to tommorow night.

Wings need to win a game in the first or second and stop having to come from behind - nice to be able to do it but somex this is what u get.

Look at Boston, or Washington, or San Jose. Every game, 5:1, 5:2. Detroit loses to the worst team in the league. Time to get rid of some of these slackers. Their all expentable, trade Datysuk, trade Hossa, trade them all. Every game another poor effort.

Honestly, maybe we should mimick the pistons.

Wow. You cannot be serious. If this team flames out in the playoffs three or four years in a row, then we can start talking about mimicking the Pistons. People on this board are unreal after a bad loss which, contrary to popular belief, happen from time to time. Take a step back, take a deep breath, and relax.

Hey. Count me in. I was wary of the Wings bringing back the ENTIRE cup-winning roster from last year. You simply don't win with a bunch of smug players happy with their accolades.

I think certain players had complete games including Z, i think they have to lock z up now he has clearly been the leader on the ice although i have no idea who it is in the locker room. Give him the C next year. But then again its hard taking it away form Lids although the Stars took it away form Modano to give it to morrow.

Agree with this, seemed like he was changing them up every shift. How the heck can they get any momentum when they're always playing alongside someone new?

It did flame out three or four years in a row. And what did Holland eventually do? He added size, he added intensity, and he shed the weight of satisfied veterans who had nothing left in the tank to fight like dogs for their victoires.

I really don't expect this team to do much of anything but flame out in the playoffs this year, because Holland doesn't make any trades but the safe ones. The complaint myself and others mirror those same claims we made from 2003-2006. More energy, more desire, more physicality, less retrospect.

I watched the Montreal vs. Tampa Bay game the other day and the post-game analyst said the Canadiens scored the first goal early then played like it was a guaranteed point. The last-place Lightning won.

When the Lebda scored and the team struggled to shut down the low slot area I got the feeling this would be that kind of night.

Maybe we'll lose tomorrow night and Babs will be able to grab the teams attention.

well.. that was very disappointing.. I watched the Pens beat up on the Isles last night and was hoping Detroit could do atleast close to the same but instead.. one goal.. from LEBDA!?.. Seriously.. Oh well.. Bring On Gretzky..

We need a prolonged losing streak. I remember last season when we had that, what, five game losing streak and I think we were better for it. To hell with my Weekend Picks (and curse me all you want for saying this), but I hope we lose tomorrow. And Monday. And Thursday.

Nothing else seems to get through to these guys.

And Hossa's groin was clearly bothering him. Not a strong game for him.

This pretty much sums up my thoughts. At least we made it entertaining. Dallas was terrible too, they played the entire third like they were on the penalty kill. The fans cheered every time the puck left their zone. Oh well, Babcock didn't look too happy, so I expect to see a better showing tomorrow night.
