Moving players that are already there is not a roster CHANGE. That's my point. Keep talking down to me, it's about all you have.

Please tell me your CHANGES. Change the organization. Go for it. Please lay out your plans.

Yes, moving players that are already there IS a change. I don't know how else to argue with you other than to use logic. You are aware that moving a player would require someone to take his place, yes?

To start with, moving Lebda so we have the cap space to bench a guy like Kopecky and bring up Helm for example. Or do the same in favor or Ericsson. Or trade Kronwall - yes, Kronwall - for a guy like Volchenkov in addition to trading Lebda which would allow us to bring up Ericsson, get tougher and stronger defensively in our top 4, and have a more even offensive balance in the top 6, as opposed to a pure top 3 that is offensively inclined on the back-end. Also, trading Filppula should definitely be taken into consideration. This team has plenty of players who a great defensive forwards, and thats essentially what Filppual is. A third line checking forward who isn't all that good at checking. I'm sure theres an interesting trade option out there for Detroit which would allow them to add Flip in exchange for any combination of a good pick, a good prospect, a hard hitter with decent offensive abilities a la Torres or an energetic third liner type who can double as a 2nd liner a la Dan Cleary. You can never have too many of those.

Long time lurker here, decided to join and post. Of course this game is getting off to an awful start, but I would much rather have us play like this now than later in the season. This kind of play won't be tolerated for too long. We know the guys can step up their game when they want it, and I have confidence they will be made to want it much more often. Ships not sinking, world not ending. We have a great hockey team that needs to understand how to execute a full effort! Go Wings!

That is wayy too much logic and optimism .

Welcome :)

Guys!! Guys!!!

HR40 had a GREAT idea. Let's all us Wings fan get together with all our Red Wing merchandise and memorabilia and have a massive bonfire. It will be so awesome.

Then we'll go to San Jose and buy Thornton jerseys and s***.

Who's in?

And then well buy Yankees Sabathia and Teixeira jerseys! I like it! No reason for us to be rooting for a team that isn't #1!

Not that I completely disagree with you (or that drake wasn't a big part of our success)...but Lidstrom handed drake the cup because it was his first.

Which he wouldn't have done if Drake had been riding the pine and had no impact on the team. Theres an obvious correlation between the fact that Drake was winning his first and how well he played. Lidstrom said in the post-cup winning game conference that he knew he was going to give it to Drake in the 2nd round, after his energy was key in winning the first round. Again, as a 4th liner.

Yes, now you appear to understand what certain words mean. Congrats.

You want to move Lebda for $650,000 in cap space? Pro-rated? I don't know what Volchenkov makes, so maybe. But Lebda is better than Ericsson right now. I doubt we can move Fil with his contract, and I'm not sure I want to anyway though I concede he is not performing well in his role/contract. I have no wish for more Dan Clearys, though. One #11 is just fine, thanks.
