Which he wouldn't have done if Drake had been riding the pine and had no impact on the team. Theres an obvious correlation between the fact that Drake was winning his first and how well he played. Lidstrom said in the post-cup winning game conference that he knew he was going to give it to Drake in the 2nd round, after his energy was key in winning the first round. Again, as a 4th liner.

Drake had an impact in the postseason, but if you remember, he was pretty awful the first half of the season. Maybe in the playoffs he was a motivating factor, but he sure wasn't one in them playing well during most of the regular season.
