This is a big game. Chicago is going to show up to play and hopefully the Red Wings do likewise. I can't see the Red Wings beating the Blackhawks without Lidstrom, but I am completely fine with being proven wrong.

Blackhawks: 5 (Kane x2, Havlat, Byfuglien, Versteeg)

Red Wings: 3 (Hossa, Cleary, Holmstrom)

Let's Go Red Wings! Maybe we can get a San Jose-like effort tonight.

My apologies on the GDT being a bit late

Why? Don't be sorry for making sweet GDTs! If you made this GDT tomorrow then you should be apologizing, but you did it the day of the game so it's all good!

Wings give up a couple cheapies in the first, get within one in the second, then go ahead mid-third period.

Wings: 4

Sparrows: 3

I don't like how this one looks for us at all, Chicago has been red hot and the Wings, well not so much. Sans Lidstrom and the Hawks playing their best hockey so far this season I predict trouble for tonight. Of course I'll always have the San Jose game to fall back on when such doubts are present.

Buuuuut for now, Hawks win 4-3 in OT, but Wings get them back at Wrigley.

This will be an interesting game, not trying to sound negative, but I don't believe wings will win it.

I AGREE WITH EVERYONE ELSE, IF WE SHOW UP WE WILL WIN, IF NOT, ANOTHER EMBARASSMENT.

ALSO, VINCANNI, NICE MELONS BROTHER.

(SORRY FOR CAPS AT WORK AND BUTTON IS STUCK)

Thats not shocking coming from you.

I know that, but I figure that it sometimes can be too much whine and complaints from myself and I will stop with that... this is a fan-forum and it's just wrong with a bad attitude.

Over on their board they're talking about a dynasty.....a good reality check for them would be the reminder that at least a Stanley Cup title must be achieved, let alone a playoff series.

Getting ready to go to Buffalo Wild Wings to see the game with some LGWrs and various fans and friends...while running some errands, I put in a ZZ Top cd and blasted "Waiting for the bus/Jesus just left Chicago". Got an epiphany...Jesus left Chicago to root for the Wings. Maybe He will be at BW2 with us! lol.

Wings win 5 - 2.

Per MLive -

Update from Tuesday's morning skate: Nicklas Lidstrom (ankle) didn't skate and won't play tonight against the Blackhawks. Coach Mike Babcock said Mikael Samuelsson will be a game-time decision. Samuelsson, who's been sick, didn't come to rink this morning. If he can't play, Derek Meech will take his place at forward. Chris Chelios is in for Lidstrom again. And Ty Conklin is starting in goal.

Players and coaches families took the team plane to Chicago this morning, in advance of Thursday's Winter Classic. Their kids and family members will get a chance to skate at Wrigley Field Wednesday after practice.

"All our families are over there already, they'll get to watch our game (tonight) on Chicago TV,'' Babcock said. "They're going to skate tomorrow. Initially we thought our kids were going to play their kids but (Blackhawks coach Joel) Quenneville told me that (Jonathan) Toews and (Patrick) Kane are their kids and I thought that was too big an advantage.''
