While the Wings obviously didn't dominate this period, it is the perfect type of period to have. They out play us and we end up with the lead, the momentum and hopefully some PP karma. Considering they're a 1st period team things should bode well for us as long as we stay vigilant.

Also while I definitely can't say I miss him on the ice, its too bad Kane got inured. Monster hit by Cleary and I was hoping he just got the wind knocked out of him, but after seeing his ankle get twisted I realized it was more a freak accident and I hope he gets better soon., preferably returning this game.

Good job staying calm and collected with the 2 early PK's.

Datsyuk extends his point streak to 8 games. Wicked wrist shot on the goal, combined with a great screen by Homer. Thing of beauty.

From the Hawks-

"wow are these wings announcers disgusting, saying the hit on kane might be the most important hit of the game"

Bahahaha. And yet they're the ones who are calling for the Hawks to run the wings and to play dirty.

Just because its the most important hit of the game, doesn't mean its being praised. If anything, its a compliment to Kane - hes such an important guy that naturally the hit was an important play in terms of the competition.

If ANYTHING, Ken, Mick, and Larry are doing nothing but praising the hell out of the Hawks.

They say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery and after watching the first period it appears that after years of getting punished and missing the playoffs in the central the Hawks have adopted a style that is very similar to ours when we are going good. Puck possession, lots of shots, and quick transition out of their own end. I also get to listen to the Chicago broadcast on center ice and about 134 times in the first period I almost puked on myself !!

Its no surprise that Chicago, Boston, and San Jose all look incredibly similar to the Wings in terms of style of play, and are sitting atop the league.

Haha what? That's priceless. Datsyuk threaded the needle. Thats a little thing called talent.

I can handle homer commentary but that was just idiocy. Add to that Duncan Keith giving zero credit as well in his interview.
