esteef 2,679 Report post Posted January 6, 2009 Does this surprise anyone? I know it's no piece of toast with Jesus on it but it'll probably still bring some good coin on ebay. esteef
Louisville 112 Report post Posted January 6, 2009 I don't know how old that kid was but if it was me, that stick would never have left my hands. Even if it was an employee he would of got a big F word from me had he tried to take it. Why would anyone have to check in a stick? And after the game was over? Feel bad for the guy but seriously use some common sense, especially in a big city like Chicago. If something doesn't sound right, it probably isn't.

edicius 3,269 Report post Posted January 6, 2009 I would have gladly served a two-minute minor for cross-checking the guy who took the stick. Throw in a four-minute high-sticking penalty for good measure.
wingnut22 81 Report post Posted January 6, 2009 that is so horrible. Some people in this world. I am glad they will be sending him another one though, although it wont be from the Winter Classic.

Jedi 1,865 Report post Posted January 7, 2009 How horrible. Big case of bad karma offset by good. Bad karma, the ****** (and I don't use that term lightly) who stole the stick from the kid. God karma, the Wings organization making sure to step up and get the kid a replacement stick. Just sucks that the kid lost a small piece of history there. Dad's a southern Baptist minister. I'll have to ask him what a good punishment would be. Guaranteed, it'll be a doozy!

betterREDthandead 58 Report post Posted January 9, 2009 Chapter 2 http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/blog/puck_dadd...?urn=nhl,133359 Wonderful news. I still want to jump up and down on the face of the ass who took it. I almost hoped it would show up on eBay - the s***bag might then have been exposed to the world. Now he's just an anonymous s***bag.

Mors 201 Report post Posted January 9, 2009 That's great he's going to get the stick back to the kid, but the fact that this ******* clown from Wrigley openly said he was going to sell the stick on eBay knowing he stole it only pisses me off more. I really feel like the owners of the stadium should be actively trying to find out who this guy was and have him fired.
drwscc 212 Report post Posted January 9, 2009 Did anyone else notice that the guy who bought the stick is wanting to "trade" it back to the kid for the one the team sent him? The bottom line, however is that Henrick gave that stick to Kalan not me. Maybe he would like to trade his new stick for an Official Game Used Winter Classic Stick. But if not, that's OK! So, trade me, or keep the one he got from the team? Why not just give the kid his stick back. If the kid wants to give you the one from the team, great. Otherwise, buzz off. You committed a misdemeanor (i think) in accepting stolen property.

He was also buying it from someone in a security guard outfit, it's not like it was some bum. I wonder if you'd be willing to give up your most prized sports item for potentially nothing.
