He doesn't have any area of specialty, he's the most generic and useless 4th line player we could have gotten. Although I'll give you this one, he's finally reached the 20 point plateau! unfortunately it took him 146 games to do it. Pretty ridiculous for someone that isn't an enforcer. He played a number of games this season on the first line with Hossa and Datsyuk and generated 0 points during that time. He was eventually replaced by Cleary who I believe scored in the first game he was put in Kopecky's place. Kopecky has no business taking a spot away from Helm (for speed) or Downey (for fighting), both of whom would be infinitely more useful just playing the roles that they excel at. There isn't one area of the game that Kopecky is decent at or has even improved since coming into the league. The only reason he is even on the Red Wings roster is because of Marian Hossa. If you are then you're not paying attention at all. This whole thing is just this season "Lazy and Sucks" whipping boy BS. Pasha13 0 Report post Posted January 16, 2009 Yeah that line is fun to watch in the offensive zone even though you know they won't likely score...they cycle well, they hit, good forecheck...but in the defensive zone, they're way less impressive. which is weird cuz draper and maltby are usually good....but i watched maltby give up on his mark the other night in dallas...stood straight up, stopped moving his feet, and watched the dallas d-man slowly move in 10 feet and get a shot off that got deflected in...two strides and he could have gotten a stick down in font of that shot, but he gave the dude all the time in the world...really lame. I'm not an expert, so when i can watch a replay and know who didnt do their job on a goal against, i get pretty hot about it... Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
