Will Capitals Backstrom be given 1 game suspension?

I don't know if this has been discussed yet, but Capitals Niklas Backstrom says he will not attend the Young Guns game despite being invited because he is tired. He even goes on to say he is not hurt. Does the Young Gun game operate by a seperate set of rules? He is "tired" and "not hurt". It sure seems to me from my chair here that there is something unusual happening. I do think, as fans, we should think long term and let Nick and Pav rest one more game (although it will be a very tough tilt against CBJ).

The suspension rule does not apply to the YoungStars game, but it may one day.

Players invited to the YoungStars competition are still exempt from the policy, and several have bowed out of the event, including Columbus goalie Steve Mason and Washington center Nicklas Backstrom. Campbell said the attendance policy eventually may be extended to cover the YoungStars as well.

The Young Stars game "doesn't mean anything", well of course neither does the All Star Game, but the Young Stars Game means even less than nothing, obviously.

He was invited to the Young Guns game just as Lids and Dats were invited to the All Star game. So why isn't he missing a game?
