1/29 GDT: Stars 4 at Red Wings 2

Do you watch the Red Wings because you like hockey? Or do you watch the Red Wings so you can call yourself a fan and have bragging rights when they win? Who cares if we win a regular season game if the game sucked. If a game sucked and the Wings win, the game still sucked. If the Wings lose but it was a good game, it was still a good game. Why does it matter? Just appreciate hockey for what it is. You can't go 82-0, I'd rather our losses be filled with emotion and out hit teams like the Stars 31-16.

But games that the Wings win are never bad games. You watch hockey because you like it. You watch a specific team to see them win.

Fortunately, you CAN have your cake and eat it too in this situation. I personally prefer emotion filled victories.

To each his own, and I respect your opinions. But, while you watch replays of this exciting game, I'll opt for the 7-0 blowout of the Aves in game 7 back in 2002.

Did I say the game was not lost in 2 minutes? No. I never said that. Although, considering we lost by 2 goals, and that Dallas scored their first 2 goals in less than 2 minutes - both of which were on the PP - then yeah, technically you could say the game was lost in 2 minutes.

At any rate, the point remains that there is NO reason to choose the ice cold goaltender to start in back to back games. Or to put one of your least reliable defensive Dmen on the PK more often than you would your 2nd best PKer. Or to put the 2 worst offensive forwards on the roster out there on the ice more often than your 3rd best forward in the lineup tonight. If Babs had made different choices, at the very least statistically speaking we would've had a better chance of winning tonight.

Answer me this. As a WHOLE how did your team play tonight?

We're all true Wings fans, otherwise we wouldn't waste time posting here as often as we do. She's no more a fan than someone else just because she doesn't throw players "under the bus".

Didn't you say you stopped watching after in became 4-0?

EDIT: yup you sure did:

I turned the game off, so I'll be following it here in the GT with the rest of you. I'm not watching anymore of that crap. Just tell me if Nick or Pavs or someone is going to be interviewed during halftime so I can put it back on.

Yes, as a matter of fact I did. Then 5 minutes later, I turned the game back on because my sister was doing her amateur American Idol audition in the room next door and I needed to drown out the noise.

I don't see what that has to do with someone being more of a fan or less of a fan, though. I was a Red Wings fan in the late 80s, and I'm a Wings fan now. If you don't think I am, well you're free to be wrong. Furthermore, if you're trying to assert any kind of superiority here, let me assure you....it ain't going to work. Now you go on and have a nice evening.

I still vote we demote Osgood to the peewee leagues and bring up Larrson and have him back up Conklin till Osgood wants to play like a big boy again...

Large group of girls in Section 203B with the sign, PLEASE PUT THE SIGN DOWN BEFORE THE PUCK IS DROPPED. I rarely go to hockey games and me, my friends, and family want to see the game, not your sign. Sure, dance around between plays, but please let me see the face offs! Also, it is not necessary to flick me off and cuss me out FOR TWO PERIODS because I told you to "put the sign down" as all the people around me cheer for sticking up for them and their view of the game. But thanks for the fake $10 bills. But one of the girls was secretly winking at me, and I wanted to let you know I am secretly winking back.

#2 - The refs sucks

#3 - Osgood should not have let the third goal by him, but the first two were lack of defence

#4 - The refs sucks

#5 - Calling back TWO goals that should have NOT been called back and then losing by two goals? Total bull

#6 - The refs not only robbed the fans of a good hockey game, but they also robbed us of a fight between two willing participants

#7 - Calling Holmstrom for holding the puck and then giving him an unsportsmanlike with two minutes left while down two goals is BULL

#8 - Holmstrom was pushed into Turco and the goal should not have been called off

#9 - The puck went in the net before the Dallas Stars player dislodged it, why did the refs allow the Stars to exchange a goal for a penalty?

#10 - Girls of Section 203B with the sign, seriously, wink wink.

#11 - Last but not least, the refs sucked and took away two good goals.

Win or lose, I watch the Wings play because I am a fan who supports my team through thick and thin, not because I want to drown out the noise next door. If you don't see a difference then...

No superiority. Just one fans opinion to another.

The replay they showed on the broadcast definitely showed a no-goal. The net coming off didn't factor into it, the puck never went in. There was a stick that came into the net, and the black tape on it gave a very convincing illusion of a puck on first review, but further looks made everything clear.

The puck never actually went in. Turco somehow kept it on his glove. I had to see the replays three times before I realized it wasn't a goal.

Well we are in a bit of a slump here, nothing to panic over but we have lost to 3 s***e teams in a row. Holmstrom's goal being disallowed obviously swung the game but its whatever. When it really matters (playoffs) the Stars are small fish, i would have been mad if we played hard and lost but we played lazy to start and when we did wake up a legit goal gets taken away from us.

GO WINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think it was tricky because the tip of Franzen's (?) stick looked like the puck. I was enraged until I saw that replay. Then I chilled out. That wasn't a goal.

Too bad there wasn't a similar view of the Lidstrom goal that made the call not seem biased and retarded. <_<

I guess it was destiny that made atdhe not work last night. Seems like it saved me from a lot of frustration.

Just hope the Wings put this game behind them and focus on really stepping up against Washington saturday. We need to end this losing streak, and what better way to do that then against one of the big teams in the East?

Hank will probably return and Conklin start, which should give us a fighting chance.
