It was really boring to watch the 1st period. Besides, I am sad that our seats are empty, our average seating percentage is 99 percentage, even the Hawks sold out their games usually...

And if you're listening to the Versus announcing, it only makes it worse.

So true. I actually turned it off for the intermission, I am getting agitated just listening to them. And then the game is boring, so it just adds to it.

If a hockey player's salary is based on playing the given 82 games per year, and not any possible playoff games, then Kronwall just earned $12,195.122 for that period of hockey. Rafalski just made $24,390.244. Even Draper made $6,422.76 for 20 minutes of nothingness.

Oh, to be a professional athlete.

Lilja needs to add some excitement for this game.

Nothing wrong with grabbing Tkachuk and pounding him into the ice.

Hell, maybe Franzen can hit Jackman into the boards again from behind like he did last year.

That's why we need to have Downey back into this team. Send Kopecky down, he is useless.

Who IS this announcer?

"So Draper did this thing back in 1998 and....Berglund with a great chance and....so Kris had to follow up Kevin Hodgson...and Steen takes the puck...."

Between the announcing, the dead crowd, and the performance on the ice, this feels like a beer league game.

Dave Strader - former voice of the Wings' broadcasts. Actually one of the better play-by-play guys in the league if you watch everyone else on the Center Ice package.

What a slow, boring first period. No jump in this team right now, no energy. They need a breakout period.

I bet if Downey was playing this game would be a bit more interesting... :P

Nah, who would he fight with? Detroit is about as scary as a yorkshire terrier still in the womb, and thats way Murray is going with 7 Dmen and sitting Janssen.

I caught a few minutes of it before the game. It's atrociously bad.

That is being generous. It was like trying to watch Paris Hilton lecture of the fundamentals of democracy.

Maybe Jackass would grow some balls and fight him. You never know, miracles have been known to happen before.

Crombeen, Backes, Winchester, Strachan, Mckee, Jackman would all probably go, even if Downs had to force them, and even then so what?

well he doesn't necessarily need to fight to provide energy and excitement... he didn't fight against Dallas

but to answer your question, Brad Winchester and BJ Crombeen, possibly Barret Jackman or Keith Tkachuk if things got out of hand
