Still, at the midpoint of the season, you have to give Osgood his opportunities.

So that means its okay for any team to play like crap for an entire season if they like and expect to magically turn it on for playoffs and win the Cup? Not saying we are playing like crap or anyone else is. But if the regular season doesn't matter then why are we watching? Why are they even playing? Why not just skip the rest of the season and start playoffs now?

And wanna know why no one was complaining when the Wings were playing well? Because then there was no reason to complain. But right now there is.

So what do you think the Wings' goals for the 2nd half of this season are?

I'd be willing to bet that the home ice or the President's Trophy aren't very high on the list.

Look, I'm not among the extremist bitchers, but yes, there are serious issues becoming clear since mid-January. Do I think we will win the Cup? Honestly, yes. We seem to be able to "turn it on" at the start of the playoffs, but RIGHT NOW, what we are seeing, is NOT a extremely good hockey club. We are mediocre at best. There is no intensity, and whehter or not you blame "bad ice", pucks are finding the back of the net, regardless of whose fault it is, if anyone's. Some things need to change.

But again, since I'm sure someone will turn me into a hate-spewing, angry hater who is only a bandwagon fan (despite my history which proves the opposite), so let me restate that we WILL win the Cup this year, but not playing like we are.

still Conklin looking better than Ozzie lol, can't argue that point. Basically Ozzie has the worst figures in a league, while Conklin has 5 shot outs with 1 against the best team in the league, yet u still say Conklin isn't much better?

How do you figure? I said Conklin has looked better. Blatantly. Read it again.

I said I don't think Conkln's looked great. I think that's fair. He's got more 3+ GA games than he does 2+ and less. Is that great? I don't think so. And furthermore, it's not like I even blamed him. I think he's played pretty well this year. But I think Osgood's played better than his stats suggest especially since coming back from injury. I think and I believe that I am absolutely correct when I say that the problem with this team starts and ends with defense. When it gets going, Osgood and Conklin's stats will soar. Both goalies will look good every night and Osgood will return to form when he finally gets a chance to play in some games worth building upon.

And he's looking good thus far this period...if he sucked as bad as y'all suggest, wouldn't they have already scored twice on this power play?

Ozzie has more then made up for the softie with his play this period. He needs to get in this zone for 60 minutes a game. Lately he plays 1 period where the wings give him no shots to face, one where he sucks and one like this...if he could get 60 minutes of consistent hockey he would be playing like last year. Not sure what it is but he looks uncomfortable at the start of games and either loses it or gets really strong.

I hope he turns it up and can play as he is right now for full games. He has Turco syndrom lately of being consitently inconsistent...I feel your pain Ozzie, I play that way sometimes too, lets get our head on straight together man,.

I've always been a fan of Strader and I don't hate on VS like some people do, but I have to say, every aspect of this broadcast has been bush league. From the excessive dialog at the expense of describing the action, to the brutal lack of replay angles, not describing the penalties... just a terrible effort.
