The Washingon Capitals claimed Staffan Kronwall off re-entry waivers from the Toronto Maple Leafs on Friday.

The 26-year-old defenceman was placed on waivers by the Maple Leafs on Thursday.

Kronwall has played 42 games with with the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League this season and has seven goals and 18 assists with a plus-1 rating. He played in 18 games in the NHL and was a minus-2 in 2007-08 for the Maple Leafs.

He was drafted by the Maple Leafs in the 9th round (285th overall) in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.

This is ridiculous, he didn't do anything wrong; He posted Kronwall picked up on waivers by the caps

Guess what, guys name is Kronwall

Just because some of you don't have the ten second pause to go "gee the wings would never waive OUR kronner" doesn't mean you get to take it out on this guy.

Doesn't matter. The way the thread was titled ("KRONWALL claimed by the WASHINGTON CAPITALS on waivers") is misleading enough. The thread title has now been edited to ensure that there is no confusion or intent to mislead, joking or not.

This matter is now closed. Please keep the discussion on track with the thread topic.

This is for all my Swedish comrades: Staffan var en stalledräng. (which, quite literally, means "Staffan was a stable-man". The meaning however I'll keep secret).

Moving on topic I hope the guy has better luck in a new organisation.
