The 26-year-old defenceman was placed on waivers by the Maple Leafs on Thursday. Kronwall has played 42 games with with the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League this season and has seven goals and 18 assists with a plus-1 rating. He played in 18 games in the NHL and was a minus-2 in 2007-08 for the Maple Leafs. He was drafted by the Maple Leafs in the 9th round (285th overall) in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.
