You have to do everything you can to avoid the goalie. Kopecky got pushed before he was on top of Rinne. He had time to get out of the way. Its homerism to look at it any other way. We'd be calling for X players head had he been pushed, skated a few feet, and then clocked Conks in the head as he fell.

IN defense to Wings homerism, I believe we all let the check on Conkers when he was on his way back to the crease go rather quietly.

While the masses may, I can honestly say I wouldn't. It was close, I'll give you that...but to call it homerism to look at it any other way is a stretch.

He got pushed right as he was starting to break to the right (looked like he was going to drag the puck then shoot it). There's about a half of second of time between the push making full contact and the collision.. and it happened at just a moment to take his legs out from under him and send him on an uncontrollable path to the goalie.

If anything, that should have been a penalty shot.

Good evidence for why you can't split those two, even if the second goal did come on the PP.

This is what has been typical of Wings games all season, they get a lead and they have trouble holding on to it, and that is what worries me come playoff time, because that won't cut it. They need to do a better job of staying focused when it looks like they are going to win.
