Zetterberg and datsyuk must stay together and they probably will but the 2nd line could be Hossa-Franzen-Cleary, but injuries ruin everything... I think hossa look a bit lonely out there no superstar next to him, still he manage to set up points...so i guess it works but not the best way

Hossa seems to thrive when hes playing on a line with people who just get out of his way. Hank and Hossa together was too much at once. Hossa is doing what he does - score. And Hank and Pavel are doing what they do when they're together - everything. You could stick anyone on the Eurotwins wing, and anyone at center for Hossa, and both guys would thrive.

Words can't describe how sick I am of Rafalski.

Im tired of the Rafalski bashing he is SECOND in points for defenceman had 3 assists tonight. He makes one bad play and everyone is all over him. He has played better then Nick this year and ill argue that with anyone.

Sigh. Hes only been better than Nick offensively. And the fact that he is a 4th forward says nothing about his defensive game, which is what earns him the flack.

See i dont agree either at times you can tell that Nick is looking to get his 1000 career point this year.

Ah, well, good game guys.

I thought we put forth a good effort and fought hard, especially Ward and Rinne, but, too little too late. I'm still satisfied with 5-2 since the all-star break.

Ward's 2nd goal was a beauty wasn't it?

Thanks for putting up with me tonight, this is an excellent board, even if you are all Dead Things

Here's to the Cup!

He's going to have to put up a point per game to hit that mark, so no.

I doubt he's even aware of it.

Are you implying that Nick Lidstrom is completely unaware of how many career points he has? I find that highly doubtful.

Nick is looking a little off kilter this season. Could be his age. Could be his elbows. Could be both and more. The great thing is... even a little off kilter, Nick is still amongst the very best defenseman in the world.

Cleary is looking great with Dats and Zata but i guess anyone would, but i really like this line.

Hossa with Hudler and Leino is a nice combination because Hossa will score no matter who he plays with but this gives us 2 amazing lines.

Franzen is probable for Sunday, would be nice to swap him with Kopecky and leave everything else the same.

Nice win tonight.

GO WINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you walked up to him after the game and asked him, do you think he'd say, "Yeah, I've got 973"? I care about stats a lot more than he does and I needed to look it up. If he's aware that he's somewhere in the neighborhood of 1000, I can guarantee you he's not conscious of it during a game. It's not a burden, he's not out there making risky plays to try and get closer. That's a laugh and a half.

And even if we assume that he was, that ship has sailed by now.

Who said anything about making risky plays? I didn't see anyone even remotely come close to implying that Nick would make risky plays to achieve a personal goal... you just making s*** up now?

Why wouldn't he?

Because he's not that concerned with his personal stats or hitting milestones? How many times has a player been told after a game they've reached milestone X and they talk about how they weren't even aware of it?

I don't know, what do you think this means?

"Im tired of the Rafalski bashing he is SECOND in points for defenceman had 3 assists tonight. He makes one bad play and everyone is all over him. He has played better then Nick this year and ill argue that with anyone."

He's right. Nick is looking a little longer in the tooth this season. I do think he is overlooking Nicks defensive play in favor of Rafalski's offensive play. But the fact remains that Nick is definately a little off. If you can't tell that by watching him play then look a little closer.

I took what he said about playing for his 1000th point as a statement that he's looking a little older. Maybe he meant it the way you think. No clue.

Whatever, I don't care about that. He said "at times you can tell that Nick is looking to get his 1000 career point this year," and that's a joke.

Actually... they rarely talk about how they were unaware of it. The canned response usually goes a little something like this: "Ya... it's nice to reach 1000 points but thats something you can enjoy later in life, right now the team is most important."

Or something to that effect.

That is what I was thinking earlier in the season. Hossa I think does best when he is the "main guy" on his line. When he was with datsyuk or Z it seemed he was the second guy which doesn't suit him.

ZDH

Leino Hossa Flip

That is the best top 2 lines in the league.

lol k ill explain that a little better in no way do i think he is playing for himself, i meant in my opinion from watching him closely he is playing slightly more offensive this year, and is starting to look a little more human from age. In which case he has been making uncharacteristic mistakes.

That being said he is still tops in the world obviously.

Rafalski is an offensive defenceman without question . I would be extremly suprised if Rafalski doesn't get close to 60 points and around + 20- 25. That 2nd goal by Ward I still cant believe he managed to keep that on his stick Rafalski poked right at the puck. Per goal he causes defensively he creates 5 or 6 more goals with his offensive skills that has kept them in games due to below average goaltending. If anyone should be bashed for lack of good play it should be Kronwall his hits he made famous in the playoffs last year are non-existent this year ( I was hoping he was turning into a Scott Stevens type player).

Leino Hossa Flip

That is the best top 2 lines in the league.

If we suppose Hudler can play many roles as offensive, he can be the 2nd liner by now his performance.

Zetterberg-Datsyuk-Homer

Leino-Hossa-Hudler

Filp-Cleary-Helm

Draper-Maltby-Downey

If Sammy can sign with a small amount of money, I will take him. He is not a good puck controller but he can be the 2nd lining scorer in any other team. Besides, if Filp does not improve his game, we have to take him seriously. He will get more and more later and if he does not produce many points or good performance, we will not be able to avoid the chance to trade him.

For 4th line, send Kopecky down. We don't need him. Just because he is Hossa's good friend, it does not directly mean he is supposed to be in this team. We need Downey on this team. He brought up a lot of physical play against the Stars and that's the type of player we want to be in this team, not Kopecky who gets needless penalty and cannot do anything with the role of 4th liner.

As stated before here, that will change if/when Hossa gets signed.

Just popping in here to let ya'll know that my game pics are up in the Hottest Wing thread. If you can stand the hormones and the over-abundance of Cheli photos! :D

There's about 130 pics so make sure you go back a page or 2 to see all of them.
