Guest Shoreline Report post Posted February 11, 2009 (edited) I thought Boston was sure to win after seeing them up 2-1 before the Wings game started. What the heck happened? Edited February 11, 2009 by Shoreline
Ratbastrd 90 Report post Posted February 11, 2009 I thought Boston was sure to win after seeing them up 2-1 before the Wings game started. What the heck happened? Sharks D' started playing O, and the killer forecheck kicked in. Sharks are a pretty relentless team when they want to be. Great game from the 2nd on. NomadFromKazoo 42 Report post Posted February 11, 2009 I lived in San Jose a while and keep in touch with Sharks fans. I was hoping for a Wings/Sharks final, let the best team win for the last 10 year. All that ended when the Sharks signed the evil one. Die, Sharks, Die. I told my buds the same thing. The Sharks suck and will as long as they are willing to win without class. Which is what signing Lemieux is. And while their butt head coach may not have been here when Lemieux was with the Avs, f*** him to hell anyway.

Not sure signing a 42 year old (former) agitator amounts to winning without class, but hey I'm a sharks fan. So far Lemieux has been fairly non-existant, nor has he had the type of impact on the team that JR did. I really hope that JR and Torrey Mitchell make it back for the post season. This will be one hell of a team if they do.
stactum 4 Report post Posted February 11, 2009 The East got schooled by the West. Nothing really new. Nabby was pretty sharp in this game. If it comes to SJS vs. DET in the Western final it will all depend on goaltending, everything else sort of cancels itself out. I would give Wings a little advantage in their 3rd line, 4th lines crappy on both teams, slight advantage in DEF goes to Wings, but SJS is "bigger and stronger" even it is overused statement. Would be very interesting. And I have to agree, it'll be either New Jersey or Washington that makes is from the East.
Wingsallwin 0 Report post Posted February 11, 2009 Yes. Boston has been good but they don't seem to win the cup. Standing is only standing and points are still only points. Look at the Bruins division. Sens,Leafs are just sucks right now and Habs do not have powerful offenses anymore as thje last season and Sabres contains no intensity. Besides, if you see the standing of East between 4th to 15th, even though the point gap is big, I don't see any difference between 4th and 15th. Rangers has no offense, Phillys no goalie, Bruins no defenses, and except for the Caps, Southeast is the place top teams in the East just earn points. In west, like today's game, Nashville is at the bottom, well not 15th but still, we had a hard time to beat them. In the East, does the top team have a hard to overcome the bottom team? Not at all. That's the difference between East and West. Besides, most people somehow look only standing and points. I don't think Thomas will lead that team to the far distance of the playoff. Yes, he has been terrific this season so far and the top leader in many stats of the goalie. He somehow seems like Price last season who was expected to be good but not great. Still, no one can predict the playoff but in my opinion, except for the Devils, I don't see any other team in the East that can compete hard against the top teams in the West. Louisville 112 Report post Posted February 11, 2009 Tim Thomas has had to prove to people his whole career that he's good, I think he's going to be playing with a chip on his shoulder going into the playoffs. That said, the Devils look really good. Shanahan and Rolston have made their scoring lines and power play so much better.
Hank 0 Report post Posted February 11, 2009 (edited) This was a great game. I'm glad I tuned in to watch it. Shanahan and Rolston have made their scoring lines and power play so much better. I agree. If Brodeur can get healthy the Devils will be a force to reckon with. Especially with how Parise's been playing. That kids dy-no-mite! Edited February 11, 2009 by Hank
