That was a sweet goal and a bad bounce for Sammy. Give credit where credit is due people. Yeah. Sammy is a forward, can't expect him to play like Lidstrom on the D. We've seen elite forwards being caught in the exact same way Sammy was there. It was a nice play by Koivu, simple as that. But Sammy and Flip could score hat-tricks and still get s***. eva unit zero 271 Report post Posted February 13, 2009 (edited) Had Flip not turned it over that play would have never had it...Sammy isnt on the point cause hes a D man, its cause hes a righthanded shot, and we got the short end of that stick on the play, but had Flip done anything else it would still be 4-1 I agree, Flip is the PRIMARY fault. But Sammy should have been able to play that situation properly. The fact that it ever even got to Osgood relied on TWO errors by Red Wing players, so blaming Osgood for a goal he had little chance of stopping is silly. Actually, Bettman has the ultimate say on how the rules are called, and had they not softened up on the rules, Sammy probably would've been more prone to hook/hold and get away with it. So, sure... Great to see that depth presenting itself, the Wild managed to shut down the Eurotwins and then Hossa and Hudler stepped up. Looks like we might have found our 2nd line.. Also really impressed yet AGAIN, by Helm and Leino. Solid game by Ozzie, though he didn't have much to do. The 2nd goal I don't think was his fault, it wasn't unstoppable but not overly weak either. 6th straight! Let's make it 7 tomorrow!
