Pavel Datsyuk is The Best Player In The World

This guy is a beast, his the best player in the league. It's not my opinion but it's the truth and I agree with it. This guy has 69 pts 4th in the NHL. He gives his best day in, day out. His up there with Crosby Malkin and Ovechkin if he doesn't win the MVP this year then I will totally hate how the NHL is organized. I don't care if Malkin has 25 pts more then Datsyuk, Malkin's team is not making the playoffs and his only in the +15's at best.

Datsyuk is +31. Wow 69 pts and +31, his the best player in the league offensive and defensive wise. Yes I know people say that's a defensive forward well his as good as any offensive player by himself being a defensive forward.

Anyone disagree?

*If he doesn't win the MVP, it's obvious NHL is all about the marketing and stuff.

P.S. I also think this guy is underrated by the NHL and NHL fans. I don't think people that aren't Red Wings fans don't realize on how good he is.

He sure is. I think if he can finish first in +/-, 3rd in points, he should win. But I also think Detroit will need to win the Presidents trophy for Dats to get MVP. If Boston wins the President trophy it'll be hard not for Thomas to win. But honestly, without Datysuk this team would be 4th or 5th in the West.

Yes I'd have to agree that Thomas has been playing lights out ... but let's not forget Fernandez has been helping out Thomas, I don't think he deserves to win MVP, the only goalie I would be okay with him winning MVP and Vezina would be Kipper.

He is actually still 4th in the NHL. What I really like about him is his consistency; look at all of his career and he's only getting better each year.

Having Hossa and Z on the same roster is pretty much eliminates his chances being season's MVP.

OK so i love datysuk. And i think underestimated for sure. But Ovechkin prob is going to take it this year even tho datsyuk is very deserving of it. they are going to say datsyuk plays with a more talented team then washington so OV is going to take MVP this year. What i think.

Datsyuk and Lidstrom still best Forward and Defence combo in the league. :D

Is Pavel the best player in the league? For sure. Will he ever win the Hart? No. Just doesn't work like that unfortunately. Its sad Malkin will get MVP nods the way the guy plays and his team currently on the outside looking in. Now the Pearson... that maybe something Pavel can get.

Thomas has played no better this year than last year. The reason Boston is better is because of the team in front of him. He said it himself.

That would be interesting to see. I like that award the best - nothing like being called the best by the guys who actually play the game.

He's not even the best player on his own team. Lidstrom still holds that honor in my opinion.

Right now, you could make an argument for him being in the top 5, but lets not forget that other teams actually have players also. ;)

There's a guy in Washington who's been tearing it up lately from what I've heard.

If Pittsburgh misses the play-offs, and Malkin wins the MVP, it'll be the biggest travesty in hockey. Ovechkin, Datsyuk and Thomas, or even the Kipper should win it. Kipper although I think has a better shot at winning the Vezina then MVP, without him Calgary would be screwed rather then having a lock on the Northwest. Malkin and Crosby's point totals are 100% meaningless if they can't even get into the play-offs. They both suck as far as I'm concerned. It takes a real MVP to turn talent into success, and Pittsburgh is a joke.

Can anyone recall a time when the #1 and #2 scoring forwards in the league were on the very same team in a year and that team did not make the playoffs?

Wow, that's quite a question. How embarrassing for them, should it come to pass! Therrien will be collecting unemployment if it does.

Dastyuk will have more points then Crosby and Ovechkin he'll finish second in behind of Malkin...

Well, there's not much sense in disagreeing with the truth then, is there? :hehe:

Seriously, I agree for the most part, but I don't think he wins the Hart. With all of the supporting cast the Wings have, I don't see any of them winning a Hart without being head-and-shoulders above everyone else, and that isn't the case. If it's close, I think they give it to someone else. If Malkin or Crosby turn it on and carry the Pens into the playoffs one of them could get it, otherwise Ovechkin probably gets it again. It's interesting that Ovie has quite a good supporting cast too, but still seems to largely get credit for carrying that team.

As long as he trusts his eyes to Dr Rahmani I will too!

But seriously yeah I think he's the best, and is always overlooked because the league think they can just give him the Selke or the Byng (which is still no mean feat) and he'll be happy and everyone will think he's got what he deserves but really he deserves to be seen as the best.

Has it occured to any of you exactly WHY Pavel has been so good this year? It shouldn't.

Wrong. Pav has eclipsed him big time. Pav will get the Pearson, Selke, Byng... Lids will be nominated for the Norris.

All the respect to Lidstrom but if I we're to chose the best red wing this year I'd have to go with Pavs

If you consider his talent offensively and defensively, his work ethic, his heart and team spirit, I would choose him over any player in the NHL. As far as the world, I haven't seen every player in the world but my gut tells me that , ya, I would still choose him.

You all know I love Pasha to death. But he'll never win the Hart. Know why??? Cause he's not the media darling that Ovechkin or Malkin is. He's not Gary Bettman's water boy. Much as we know how hard he works and how dedicated he is, it will never be enough, because he won't bow to Bettman, and consequently, he won't get it.

When I was at the Phoenix game, they honored Pasha with the Carhartt Hardest Working Player award for the month of January. It was the second month in a row that they honored him with it. He is the hardest working player on that team...he works his ass off every night. That is evident by looking at his plus-minus and the fact that for the last three seasons he's led the League in takeaways, and will most likely do it again. He's 6 points away from 500 career points. And he's going to crack the top ten in all-time Red Wings scoring leaders either by the end of this season or early next. Not a bad accomplishment for a guy who's been here for a mere seven years.

If he could win the Hart, I'd be happy as all get out. But I don't see it happening. Then again, I think he has his eyes on a bigger prize, don't you???

Pavs will win the Hart...Maybe not this year unless he finish's with one hell of a streak, but he will oneday win for sure. The fact of the matter is it doesnt matter how he plays with or against, no one and I do mean no one can dangle like this guy. He can keep the puck on his stick and weave in and out of players at will it seems. No other player n the league can stick handle like him, he is in his own bracket there! And he makes those moves every sigle night, not just every half dozen games or so. As for his defensive play...just look at his takeaways and that says it all.
