Wow. I understand that anything can happen in the NHL. A three goal lead can dissipate in the blink of an eye, especially the way the Wings have been playing. But do you really think he was embellishing a Crosby for a regular season game if they were just going to get blown out; as in, if they were just going to in all likelihood lose anyways?

Sigh. Reading Comprehension. This was in the context of the Wings seeing Dumont on the ice, not having the view of the Kronwall cross-check that we did, and the *possibility* that Dumont was faking it from the Wings perspective on the bench when they were calling for the too many men.

The next person who whines about goaltending in this thread should be banned permanently.

No. They called icing against Detroit when Samuelsson was standing mostly behind the center line, but the puck was on the Nashville side of the ice. That's unforgivable, and I have to argue about goaltending in the GDT because of it.

His point, as I alluded to earlier, is that a significant portion of this board just ignores mistakes Conklin makes which they would crucify Osgood for, ignore saves Conklin makes when they would say "that's a goal if not for the great defense" if Osgood is the goaltender, and praise Conklin for great saves while saying that Osgood has spent his entire career as the product of a great defense.

That is what Electrophile was getting at.

Yet no one has said anything about Conklin being great. The most anyone has said is that he was solid - he didn't make big mistakes, didn't do anything special either. Essentially, theres no story on Conklin tonight. Theres no need to even bring up goaltending at all unless we're talking about how we lit Ellis up.

Hossa is an absolute stud, enough said, but it's unfortunate that he is the one out there having to stick up for teammates. Just interviewed him on FSN, got a good bump on his forehead, but no worse for the wear. The interviewer also told him fans were chanting his name when leaving the Joe, he got a kick out of that.
