Guest micah Report post Posted February 20, 2009 Wow. Maltby is sitting in favor of Leino too, which is awesome!

maltbymaniac 13 Report post Posted February 20, 2009 it says maltby is in for leino,at least thats what im reading. There is one other lineup change from the last game, as Kirk Maltby goes back in for Ville Leino. Coach Mike Babcock said he plans on rotating players in on the fourth line for the time being. right? True. Didn't Ozzie's game flourish last season after working with the Michigan goalie coach or something? He needs to work with him again.
NeverForgetMac25 483 Report post Posted February 20, 2009 This is the type of move that will either propel Oz going forward into the postseason or solidify Conklin as the starter come April. Big Move.
Aussie_Wing 354 Report post Posted February 20, 2009 Wow, didn't expect this, not that I'm at all against it. Good luck Jimmy, all the best mate. You've certainly waited a long time for a chance, any chance, and here's one at least.
Guest mindfly Report post Posted February 20, 2009 How can they play Maltby instead of Leino.. that's 100% due to loyalty and wanting maltby to reach 1000games asap for whatever reason... classy but not the best for the team
NeverForgetMac25 483 Report post Posted February 20, 2009 Wow. Maltby is sitting in favor of Leino too, which is awesome! Is this sarcasm? I really wish Maltby would continue to sit for the time being. I just don't find him to be effective anymore and Leino has been stellar. That being said, a rotation makes sense to keep everyone fresh.
clutchngrab 12 Report post Posted February 20, 2009 (edited) It's going to be interesting to see how the bad bounce crowd spin this one. Edited February 20, 2009 by clutchngrab

RedSea 31 Report post Posted February 20, 2009 It's going to be intersting to see how the Osgood lovers spin this one. This is what Osgood was planning all along. Take the season easy, get a whole bunch of close victories, then take an early spring break to re-tune his goalie skills and get back into last year's playoff mode. He got us wins didn't he?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!
Reds4Life 51 Report post Posted February 20, 2009 And now all Ozzie's (ex)supporters will like this move, right? Good move, Osgood sucks this season.
DatsMyWings13 4 Report post Posted February 20, 2009 Good move giving Osgood some time off. Hopefully he can get it together.
GMRwings1983 8,803 Report post Posted February 20, 2009 They need to get his mind straightened out, like they did with Cool Hand Luke. Hopefully, he'll come back feeling like he has something to prove. That's when he's always played his best for us. So far this season he's felt like he's on a high throne somewhere where no one can do anything to him. No more immunity for that Cup win.

Vladifan 680 Report post Posted February 20, 2009 Yeah a big middle finger to all osgood lovers *just kidding* You might want to look up the phrase "passive-aggressive". You may even see your picture next to the definition.
Heroes of Hockeytown 694 Report post Posted February 20, 2009 Make or break time is approaching for Oz.
RedSea 31 Report post Posted February 20, 2009 So Howard gets to play the offensive-lacking Wild. I won't say it, but we all know what is going to happen. It rhymes with Futt-out and is the beginning of the end for Ozzie. What I'd really prefer is that Osgood just wakes the F up and starts playing lights out like last year. maltbymaniac 13 Report post Posted February 20, 2009 didnt ozzie get enough rest to refocus in december.
DMAC 25 18 Report post Posted February 20, 2009 about time that this happened, dont get me wrong i like ozzie but he just needs to focus and not have to worry about any games for a while
syntax 359 Report post Posted February 20, 2009 Make or break time is approaching for Oz. Sure is. Hopefully he'll do well when/if he comes back. Don't they figure most goalies need to play more to get back into the 'groove'? Too bad we can't send him to GR for 5 games.
Vladifan 680 Report post Posted February 20, 2009 It's going to be interesting to see how the bad bounce crowd spin this one. I only know I don't have to spin jack. I hope for the best for Oz and that this break and hopeful re-focusing works for him AND THE TEAM. Which is where Holland and Babcock HAVE to be. And once again, thank God they're in charge and not you.
tingnoel 4 Report post Posted February 20, 2009 I can honestly say that I wasn't expecting this. I really didn't think we would see Jimmy Howard in Detroit unless there was an injury... From what I saw at the Griffins games I've been to this year while I've been shunned to the west side of the because of college, he's playing pretty well. It should be an interesting weekend to say the least..
