I am getting sick of this juggling the goal tender crap. Conks should have started tonight.

That's because the Wings used to have 2 equally good goalies. Lets get Curtis Joseph back!!!

He's not had that many chances. This was a bad game to play him. The Wild rarely let in more then 2-3 goals, big pressure to not let any in. Should of played him against LA next week, where he could let in 4 or 5 and the team would still win. Either way, Osgood wouldn't of performed any better.

It's Conklin or nothing boys.

Conks has played great, so there is nothing wrong with that.

Howard HAS NEVER been consistent in the AHL why does anyone think he'll do any better in the NHL, he goes 4 games and cant win one, then plays 6 great, he never is able to play 10 good games, its always one extreme or another, he is not a great goalie, and obviously the team knows that or else they wouldnt have gone out and gotten Conklin.... Imagine what next year could be like...

I have never seen the Wings try so hard to not have a regular starting goalie.

Sounds more like we'll miss the entire play-offs We need a goalie for next season anyways, no time like the present to grab a cheap one.

Ya, goaltending could definitely be a problem next year. In the meantime, name Conklin number 1 and pray for the best.

The team always looks so much better in front of Conklin. I can't remember a total brainfart of a game like tonight when we've had Conks in net.

Howard didn't play well - but most of our team didn't. We were slow, we made sloppy passes, and we didn't seem to wake up until it was too late.

I wasn't expecting a lot out of Howard. He had some good saves.. but ultimately, our entire team wasn't up to par.

Congratulations to the Wild - they deserved the win & they worked hard for it.

Now let's take these three days and get out there to make some Shark food out of San Jose.

Well, I can understand the reasoning behind it. The reality of Conklin being a starting goalie for another team next season is very real. After that, we have Osgood, Howard, and Ericsson. (Excuse my spelling if I got it wrong.) Management obviously felt Osgood needed time to just work with a goaltending coach - and they probably wanted to see how Howard would fare in terms of being the backup next season for Osgood.

So while Conklin is the best we have right now, the Wings could afford this loss - and they knew that. There's a lot more to think about than just coming out on top during the regular season. We're a solid lock for the playoffs - three points away from San Jose. There wasn't a whole lot to lose.

Great summary of the game. These 3 days of rest will do the Wings some good. They need to really hammer down because the Sharks are, as of today, the best in the NHL.

Well you got to think of it like this also... you have a goalie that has not had alot of NHL experience the team playing in front of him just got done with a game last night. I did not see the game at all so I cant really judge his performance.

True but we should make the push to pass the sharks for home ice advantage through the west. The sharks are just that dangerous at home, and we suck in the shark tank.
