If there's one thing I've learned from this whole thing - and, I would think the whole league has learned - it's that the best way to get Sidney Crosby off his game is to pester him. Simple as that. It bothers him enough to let his emotions take over and not in that positive, passionate way but in more of a negative, distracted way. If Sid doesn't get it under control with age, it's not only going to affect his reputation among the league as a whiner but his playing ability as well. If Pens fans are to be believed, the effect on his playing ability can already be seen with him playing second fiddle to Malkin.

What I thought when I saw this happen was that this is great for the league if the two stars hate each other. Rivalries are great for the game. We have never seen the two big names hate each other before. Mario and Wayne were friends, Magic and Larry were friends. Hopefully the league doesn't f*** up two of the biggest talents we have seen in the last 20 years.

I beg to differ. Tootoo and Pronger are very much hated on these forums- especially Pronger. You'd be hard pressed to find someone who is more universally hated than Pronger on here.

My point wasn't that you guys didn't hate Pronger and Tootoo as much as Crosby, it was that all these topics are always focused on Crosby - at least three per week - yet you guys never post on Pronger and Tootoo's antics.

Did you even read the post? I didn't ask you to feel sorry for the kid, I was asking you to stop being such ******* saps for the media. This whole thing is produced be overexposure and you guys think you are being 'different' for hating Crosby. Everyone ******* hates him because you have all jumped on the bandwagon against him, despite the fact he is one of top two exciting players in the league.

yep, habit. Someone got into my account once on another board back in the day and, of course, posted a bunch of crazy s***. I had trouble convincing the mods it wasn't me (because I'm such a stand-up guy ). Now I stamp my name at the bottom as an official seal kind of thing. So if you see any of my posts without the name then it's either someone hijacking my account or I'm too drunk and lazy to type it!

Does media exposure of Crosby bother me? No. I couldn't care less one way or another about Crosby or media attention towards him. I understand though why people or fans might be frustrated with this, which is why I've pretty much am trying to stand down on thinking people are ridiculous and overboard at times for the dislike of Crosby. Do I still think the fan reaction is retarded at times? Yes, but there's nothing I can do about that and if/until there's a different marketing approach, there's going to be Crosby hate, whether it is fair/unfair.

Media likes to overdramatize things and make stories out of stuff when there's not much to be made out of. Happens all the time in sports or politics or whatever. Another example is the Michael Phelps marijuana story. Honestly, who really gives a damn that badly if he smoked marijuana? All right I'm sure some people do but I don't. Like the Crosby/Ovechkin recent event, if it were any other players involved or if it's just a random guy on the street smoking mari, nobody's going to talk about it.
