shadow47 1 Report post Posted March 4, 2009 I really liked what I saw tonight and I hope it continues tomorrow. Certainly if any team can keep that level of play up for many games it's the Wings. But I finally get to watch a whole game tomorrow night and I hope we stomp the Avs. To those of you who saw the Holland interview: Did he say we weren't making a trade at all? BEcause if he didn't go out of his way to dismiss it, I'd bet we are getting someone. I know Satan isn't the best, but I always liked him for some reason. Probably the name, heh. He used to be pretty gritty, too, didn't he? Satan is one of the softer players in my recent memory. That's always been the knock on him, he scores but he's a "Yashin type" in a lot of ways, "Sammy type" in LGW language. The thing is, even when Buffalo stank he scored, he was often their highest point scorer and yet was often a healthy scratch, that seemed really weird to me. 30 goals here, leading scorer there, he's consistently put up points. This year, not so much, why?
I Red Wings I 40 Report post Posted March 4, 2009 Some post game quotes "You're a little concerned, a little worried, but then we got a little update that he was OK," forward Daniel Cleary said. "The one thing we talked about was 'Let's take it to them, let's get this thing out-of-hand.'' "I don't think he's playing tomorrow but he's flying with us," coach Mike Babcock said. "They're doing a bunch of tests on him and everything looks real good." "He just kind of turned and hit the boards with his head," Polak said. "I don't want to injure the guy, I just want to play hard. I saw it and I didn't feel good after that." "I know when I'm playing good and when I'm not," Osgood said. "I feel like I'm getting where I need to be, and I'm not scrambling around, so I think I'm going in the right direction." Mason said the Blues sagged after the Hossa injury. "It seemed to slow down the fire we had," Mason said. "I don't know it was the time delay or the situation, but we definitely didn't come out the same or play the same after that." Coach Andy Murray doesn't anticipate a big roster shakeup. "I would suspect it's probably going to look the same," Murray said. "I haven't been called up for any discussions, and they would call me if there was something going on." Recap

Vladiator 116 Report post Posted March 4, 2009 The best D I have seen this season. Erricson was passing up very well and just played great for the most part. Don't think Hossa will be showing up for the next game, but glad to hear all is well. Hope we can take a back to back series for once. Lines were well spread so I'm thinking that the Wings should be OK against the Avs.

HockeyCrazy3033 168 Report post Posted March 4, 2009 I'm a little late on posting in this thread but... Thank goodness Hossa is doing okay after that scary incident. Hopefully he'll be able to play within the next few games or so. SOOO very happy Ozzie got the shutout! Wings played great. Kopay was amazing and is starting to come into his own. Really happy Flip got one. The Downey/Janssen fight was freaking SWEET and so damn long. Haha I loved it!
