Pasha13 0 Report post Posted March 4, 2009 I admit a little jealousy- genealogy is simpler in the Icelandic records than in Irish and American, due to the presence of last names. No kidding...I couldn't imagine sifting through a Keflavik phone book now that I'm toatlly Americanized...it would probably be like trying to find a needle in a stack of friggin' needles... Doc Holiday 0 Report post Posted March 4, 2009 Wait...how could Kopecky have 3 points but be +2 in a shutout? Powaplay goal.
sureWhyNot 19 Report post Posted March 4, 2009 Wow, my man with a plan Aaron Downey is 2 for 2 in getting the Fox Sports fan player of the game. First game he raked up a 49% of the total vote, and this time he picked up a whopping 68% of the vote. Detroit fans love him in the lineup -- s***, after tonight, it would be hard not to love every guy in the lineup. We played a near perfect game.
Third Man In 2,091 Report post Posted March 4, 2009 (edited) Wait...how could Kopecky have 3 points but be +2 in a shutout? Being on the ice during a PP goal, for or against, doesn't count towards one's +/- Edit: Peleshob beat me to it. Edited March 4, 2009 by Third Man In
ruarc' 2 Report post Posted March 4, 2009 Hossa to play tomorrow?
Jedi 1,865 Report post Posted March 4, 2009 Hossa to play tomorrow? HIGHLY unlikely. Unless his alter ego is Clark Kent, it's safe to assume he'll be out for a few just to be safe.
miller76 463 Report post Posted March 4, 2009 (edited) did I hear that right? The babcock interview, saying Hoss may be on the flight to Colorado? Edited March 4, 2009 by miller76
Pasha13 0 Report post Posted March 4, 2009 Powaplay goal. Would you believe me if I said I knew that...and that I look a lot stupider right now than I really am? Or is it too late...cuz I totally knew that...
Vladifan 680 Report post Posted March 4, 2009 Anybody else hear Babcock say that Hossa will be taking the plane tomorrow to Colorado and may be in the lineup??!!! Of course then he got a big grin on his face. So who knows? He said Hossa asked the doctor if he could play tomorrow, but didn't give the doctor's response. BUT THAT IS GREEEEEAAAAAT NEWS!!!!!!!!!! Electrophile 3,554 Report post Posted March 4, 2009 So, Wings were good tonight? Yeah? We were alright. Nothing special.
TheUkrainian 49 Report post Posted March 4, 2009 Hossa to play tomorrow? Even if he was able to, I would hope not. Give him a rest, make sure he doesn't any any issues before coming back. I'm assuming by "on the flight" he means he will be in the top box.
Pasha13 0 Report post Posted March 4, 2009 Yeah, after two straight games having to leave with head trauma...I might give him another night off... Getting jarred one more good time without being sure he's okay could lead to some pretty unfortunate stuff. Like Franzen had last year during the playoffs. Vladifan 680 Report post Posted March 4, 2009 IT'S TRULY THE END OF THE WORLD! HIDE THE WOMEN AND CHILDREN!! MASS HYSTERIA!!!! Seriously, what the HELL happened in this game? All the most hated Wings actually did good. Is that even possible? I'm scared. Confused. I feel like I'm facing an unknown world. AAAAANNND.....Looking at that score sheet and who scored, juuust whaaat might that say about the rest of the season? Hmmmmmmmmm?? .....humming loudly, "BEYOOOOOND THE BLUUUUUUUE HORRRRRRIIIIIIIIZZZZZON....."
TheUkrainian 49 Report post Posted March 4, 2009 Murph really needs to get a new whiteboard for "Lessons w/ Larry". My roommate keeps making the comment that the goal looks like a nutsac...lol
VM1138 1,921 Report post Posted March 4, 2009 I really liked what I saw tonight and I hope it continues tomorrow. Certainly if any team can keep that level of play up for many games it's the Wings. But I finally get to watch a whole game tomorrow night and I hope we stomp the Avs. To those of you who saw the Holland interview: Did he say we weren't making a trade at all? BEcause if he didn't go out of his way to dismiss it, I'd bet we are getting someone. I know Satan isn't the best, but I always liked him for some reason. Probably the name, heh. He used to be pretty gritty, too, didn't he?

Hockeytown_Ryan 122 Report post Posted March 4, 2009 Marian Hossa has too many injuries. He isn't reliable in the playoffs. There should be a penalty for that...2 threads for ......Unposting like conduct
Guest DetroitBoy313 Report post Posted March 4, 2009 Nashville won again tonight, anyone else fear Nashville just a bit? I really don't want to play them AGAIN in the playoffs.
Third Man In 2,091 Report post Posted March 4, 2009 (edited) We were alright. Nothing special. Perhaps. But the Wings were playing a hot Blues team fighting for their playoff lives. They got secondary scoring, held the opponent to 22 shots, only took 2 penalties and killed both off, went 2-7 on the PP, and got solid goaltending. Maybe "nothing special", but that sounds like a winning formula every night to me. Edited March 4, 2009 by Third Man In
Mark B 0 Report post Posted March 4, 2009 The whole team plays grittier more play off type hockey with Downey in the line-up. It's great to see. Coincidence that the two most exciting playoff type hockey games this year have been with Downey in the line-up? Ya they do,could you imagine if they had Chris Neil in the line up,they would have energy up the ass!!! Come on Holland Please!!!

Third Man In 2,091 Report post Posted March 4, 2009 (edited) I was being sarcastic. Apologies. But I'm sure you'll understand that's easy to miss, give the background of perfectionists and overreactors that inhabit the GDT. TheUkrainian 49 Report post Posted March 4, 2009 I think he was kidding!!!!! Or..maybe it was an elaborate plot by Babcock and Hossa to see how the rest of the Wings responded to an injury to a start? Hossa could've gotten off the stretcher, grabbed a brew and a few hotdogs and sat in the upper box and watched the rest of the game? God damn I'm tired..
