40#1Fan 0 Report post Posted March 4, 2009 http://blog.mlive.com/snapshots/2009/03/fo...ings_thund.html Posted by George James Malik March 04, 2009 13:37PM The Denver Post's Adrian Dater reports the following: March 4, Denver Post: Just learned from a reliable source that Peter Forsberg, along with his parents, are in Denver right now and that Forsberg will "make an announcement" at the Avs-Wings game tonight. That announcement is expected to be that he will officially retire from the NHL. I'll have more on this as it develops. I talked to Forsberg's agent, Don Baizley, about this just now and he didn't want to offer a comment of any kind. This would be the kind of appropriate game to make such an announcement, no? GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted March 4, 2009 He signs with the Wings for $1 to lock in the repeat. That is a thunder stealing move. And he suits up for the Wings tonight, much to the chagrin of the horror-stricken, dumb ass Pepsi Center crowd.
Hockeytown_Ryan 122 Report post Posted March 4, 2009 Mlive Blog The Denver Post's Adrian Dater corrected his previous report suggesting that Peter Forsberg would retire before the Colorado Avalanche's game against the Detroit Red Wings: March 4, Denver Post: Sorry for the false alarm folks. No Forsberg retirement announcement here tonight. While a retirement is likely to be official at some point soon, it won't be tonight at the Avs-Wings game. Big false alarm. Not cool. Seriously not cool. Sorry all
The Secret 304 Report post Posted March 5, 2009 Who cares, just retire already. He hasn't been playing all year why would you want to come all that way to say "I want to make an announcement... I'm officially not here to play anymore. THE END". Good player or not, its getting annoying.
Hank 0 Report post Posted March 5, 2009 What a solid career he's had. Its a shame it had to end this way. Yup, I think he was one of the top 10 forwards of all time. Maybe even players of all time. I just grew tired of his on-again, off-again career near the end: - "I'm coming back!" - "No I'm not" - "Which team am I going to?" - "I'm making a comeback!" I'm glad he finally ended it so we can celebrate the player he was and not be bogged down with a weekly report letting us know he isn't sure if he's going to play again or not.
