Phoenix Coyotes -- Worst organization in sports

WOW!

The second thing the league should do about this is contract the org.

First thing would be move it! If it still can't exist contract it, and if that means another team has to go, I am sorry to the fan base of that team, really I am. But the few of you that were fans of the yotes should have done a better job getting your friends to the games.

From that article cited a few posts back:

According to Glendale city records, the Coyotes stopped paying the city rent, parking fees and most of its security costs at the arena in August.

If that ain't a clue to Mr. Bitchman, maybe the league could do with rescinding a team or five.

Wow, so the league is running the Yotes now? Hmm so if Buttman has his way, he'll put Crosby on there.

Seriously though, I can't imagine it getting any better when the league runs a team instead of an owner who is trying to be successful and make a profit (unlike Jerry Moyes). More mediocre Coyotes action, coming soon! Has this ever happened before to an NHL team?

I believe the league ran the California Seals/Cleveland Barons franchise on a couple different occasions...worked out well for them, didn't it?

Los Angeles Clippers? Chicago Cubs - no world series banner in 100 years

Whoa whoa whoa whoa . . . the Cubs are one of the best franchises in sports. Granting the winning hasn't been there but it has a dedicated fanbase on par with the best in sports, a new owner who actually cares, a great historic ballpark that is filled every game (even at 1:20 on a Tuesday afternoon) and more history than several baseball teams combined. The World Series championships will come to Clark and Addison soon enough.

Yeah, don't pick on the Cubbies. I grew up 15 minutes from Wrigley Park and even though I'm not a Cubs fan, I went to a s***-ton of their games growing up. They have a remarkable fan base, no matter what their record is.

Agreed, the Lions by far are the worst...........no one else is even close.

I've often thought the only thing wrong with the Lions was the 45 guys they dressed every week. If I had to start a franchise from scratch, I'd take one with a shiny new stadium that's sold out most of the time, and a pretty loyal fan base, all things considered. They must have done something right at some point if the fans keep buying season tickets and going to games.

On second thought, maybe having an assistant coach going through drive-thru naked would probably be another thing I'd change.

No body can give credit to the lions for selling out at Ford Field.

Ford Field Football capacity 65,000

Pontiac Silver Dome Football capacity 80,311

Any team in the history of any sport is going to sell out when they reduce the number of tickets by almost 20,000.

I love the Cubbies, but they did suck for a long time. Just because you have a dedicated fanbase doesn't mean your organization doesn't suck.

It doesn't have anything to do with reducing the seats. The stadium is one of the reasons why up until last season nearly every single home game was sold out. Plus, it isn't hard to sell out for a sporting event when it is a) football and b) you only have to market around 8 home games only.
