Blue Jackets in shut down mode. This is like watching paint dry.

For real.

If they get a lead, they are dangerous. Ken Hitchcock knows what he's doing, and then they get Mason to make a few big saves for them and escape with two points. It's a strange and inconsistent model for success, but it's clearly frustrating.

Anyway, a very lackluster first period. I kind of have a funny feeling about this one, in that I expect the Wings to play strong the rest of the way and make a comeback. Let's hope so.

Sammy and Kopecky in the top 6 is painful. Hudler and Fillpula actually looking pretty good together last couple games.

Sammy yes, but I felt Kopecky played better then most that period.

If we cant beat the CBJ there is a problem, Mason is good but i've seen terrible teams pick him apart. Im sure we can make a comeback and win.

GO WINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just do not understand the line up. It looks like Datsyuk-Sammy-Mule, and Hank-Kopecky-Cleary..

Babcock just better put Datsyuk-Zetterberg-Cleary and change the line combos. Lines right now look ugly and no intense.

Never had any kind of rhubarb in my life. Hubby says its good though.

You know something's not clicking when everyone starts missing Lillja.

Mason is just on his game! Kick him or something!

My grandmother made a KILLER strawberry-rhubarb pie.

*sigh*, I sure miss it.

What do you mean by it being "strange and inconsistent"? Columbus is just the flavor of the year in that regard. Edmonton, Nashville, Calgary, Anaheim, New Jersey (all in the past)....Mediocre teams with a smart coach and good goaltender have been employing this for years. In fact, if it weren't for the Wings offense, I'd be very apprehensive about them even getting out of the round when facing a team like this. Fortunately, the Wings are incredibly well-equipped when healthy and motivated to beat these boring, defensive, goaltender-reliant teams.

We better see Zetterberg-Datsyuk-Cleary after the intermission. There is no reason not to.

After that, why not throw Franzen-Hudler-Filppula out there? Put Kopecky back with Draper and Maltby. And then play the fourth line of Samuelsson-Meech-Downey sparsely (never).

expect Babs to alter the lines, they have been horrible. The thing is if you put Pav and Z on top line does it leave the other lines week. This cap issue is hurting us at present. With Leino and Helm back in here we seem more balanced when Hossa is out. So we go with

Pav Z Cleary

Franzen Draper Samuelson

Kopecky Filpulla Hudler

Meech Maltby Downey

Play 3 line hockey by the looks of it!!

Well, I didn't say it was anything new.

But placing so much reliance on a goaltender is tough. But, hell, it certainly wasn't Columbus' plan entering the season. Mason's play has been a shock to everybody, including their organization, so they're running with it. They wouldn't be within spitting distance of the playoffs without him.

I just have a very difficult time seeing it last, especially when Mason is so untested in the playoffs.
