Remember when the wings had that long stretch of not being shut out. The wings right now are really hit or miss on the style of play and it has to stop. This is a preview of what can happen in the playoffs if we let off, and we hit a hot goal tender.

Man... the Wings can't buy a break. Kronwall suddenly falls on his ass with a forechecker right behind him to scoop up the puck. Thank god Ericsson was their to scoop the puck up and toss it out before the Jacket got to it. *Sigh* Now I guess I can forgive Big Rig for the gaff at centre ice that ultimately lead to the goal (with Rafi's help).

How many times this season has someone said that? So all 5 goals were Osgoods fault? So all 6 goals were Osgoods fault? That's just my point, he's not getting better, he won't get better. So might as well ride Conklin. This whole loyalty thing is getting old.

When the defense plays this bad you could play 2 goalies and it won't matter.

The Wings care, they shut teams down. When the other team plays with more desperation, the Wings have lost every game this year.

You can think what you want, I just want to be fair. If the defense helps Osgood out at all in the 1st this game is at most 2-1 BJs.

Kinda like the last game between the teams in Columbus, without Osgood, this game is significantly uglier.

This team needs to get healthy :S i think injuries to hossa and holmström ruins alot, and the d-pairings aren't the best i think.. and the team plays better defense when conklin is the netminder, that's a fact.

How come Detroit didn't draft miller back in 99, he was like 151st overall or something

I believe that is what they did the the first installment of the Mighty Ducks. The goal sucked. Bombay tied him to the posts and let everyone shoot at him. All of a sudden he became a great goalie.

The Wings are going to have to get over it now, because Osgood is about as good as it's going to get the playoffs like it or not.

Neither is his 3.16 GAA (39th in the league) aka 39th in the league and his .883 SV% (39th) -- which mind you puts him last among

all NHL goalies who have played at least 20 games this season.

None of that is his fault.

If you are looking to point the finger go ahead and point it at:

a) "Cup Hangover"

b) Defense

c) Downey

d) Fairweather fans

But whatever you do - DO NOT BLAME Ozzie. Don't you idiots realize he won cups for us in the past? And played well coming off thebench last year in the playoffs? Those are the only things that matter, especially since anything negative is clearly not his fault.

Yeah Osgood should go straight emo like some of the "fans" do on here when someone screws up. Today it's Osgood. Tomorrow it'll be Sammy.

Anyone good at photoshop? We could do a "Create an emo Osgood" after every bad game or something since they guy shouldn't EVER move on from a bad game or anything

That play had nothing to do with Ericsson whatsoever. That was a nothing play, that was 100% Rafalski's fault. He needs to play better, and communicate better, with his goaltender. Switch Rafalksi with any other Dman, and thats a nothing play. Rafalski has issues when he and Osgood are going for the same puck.

Honestly, I really, really regret the Rafalski signing. I would've preferred the signing Schneider, simply because Schneider was only looking for a short-term year contract, and Rafalski's contract on the back-end is precisely what takes us out of play for Bouwmeester.

Eh, he did great last season, and they won the cup. Lots of other teams would love to have that happen. I was pretty much done with Schneider when he left. They needed a change.

Sure, Rafalski, like many, is having a below-average season. I'd be more concern with contracts for Stuart, Filppula, and Cleary before I worried about Rafalski's. He's only signed for 3 more years after this season, so that isn't too bad. That said, I think a huge part of the problem is the absence of McClellan.

Yes perhaps, but to honestly believe Osgood's 3.2 GA and the worst Sv% in the last 5 years among all goalies, is the D not playing well, is bs. He's really bad. He is by far the worst goalie in the league, and has the worst Save% of any goalie in the last 5 years. Yes, the last 5 years. He is bad.

Kronwall and Stuart are playing awful as well. You would think this team would wake up and at least try to get the Presidents trophy. Detroit lucked out last season with an easy play-off draw.
