Maybe it's a Hossa jersey......?

If that were the case, I'd give him a pass. But in the small snippets I saw of the game last night, I'm fairly certain the number began with 8.

And we both know what that means...

Can someone explain the Penguins' jersey behind him?

It's bulls***, I see it all the time at the Joe. People wearing a Red Wings jersey with a Penguins hat or a Red Wings jersey with a Avalanche hat. Hockeytown, psshhhh <_<

Yep, 87. I was watching that shirt earlier during the game. I believe the seats behind the player benches are rather expensive and this fella sits there with a Penguin shirt. Mrh.

Don't put too much into that....I know there are travel teams and the players are wearing their team hat or something......I'm not saying it is that way all the time....just saying it is possible

LOL, nice.

Oh, and the irony here is it's another near-1,000 post topic and it's for another ass beating. If only those negative people would come out of the woodwork more often when the Wings are winning or in a close game. I'm seeing far more posters waiting back on posting for a loss like this, just so they can try to act justified in tearing the Wings, namely a specific player or two, a new *******. f*** bandwagoners.

I would think that arguments create much more conversation than agreements.

"The Wings played well tonight."

"Yeah, it was a great game!"

"Osgood let in 7 goals, he is really terrible."

"No, it was the defense. They hung him out to dry."

"Osgood needs to steal a game!"

"What goals could he have stopped?"

"Plenty."

And it goes on and on.

Rafalski is making it hard for this team with his massive 6M contract NTC included as well... imagine what you could do with those money... a top goalie or dominating defenseman

We can pretty much pinpoint when you became a Wings fan. Just after Game 4's win, with the Wings up 3-1 in the series, and just before the start of Game 5. By the time Game 5 was over you were almost a Penguins fan.

Well we could have given Howard a better look; not that I think he would be worlds better, but who knows maybe he comes in on fire if given more then a single game. We could rely on more Conklin who isn't a world beater but certainly has been better then Ozzy this season. Listen I would love for Ozzy to just turn it on in the last few games and play as good as he did last year; which really he could have won the Smythe if it weren't for Z's amazing 5 on 3 act. But you can't hedge your bents on hopes at the moment, you have to go with what is safe. We hoped last year and then pulled Hasek when hope failed, went with the guy who many believed couldn't bring us to the cup despite his amazing play during the season. Now this year Ozzy is Hasek and Conklin is Ozzy.

I agree with everything you have said, except The Watchmen was simply amazing your taste in movies sir . But your opinion the goalie situation

I'm a girl

For the sake of not starting an anti-Crosby ceremony, I will simply put:

+1. Would read again.

When we win, people *****. When we lose, tons of people *****. There's a problem there.

It all seems vaguely familiar. It was the same last year.

Granted I came in at the tail end of the season, but what I saw from that point forward pretty much validates what you just said. I don't understand the mindset of some people; it's like they're never happy. I can completely understand people venting about last night's game because it was effing atrocious. However we only get super-high GDT page counts when we're getting blown out. It's almost like more people feel like stopping by to harangue the team for doing this that and the other wrong, than come by when we're blowing the other team out and applaud them for doing this that and the other right.

It's baffling.

Amen, and yeah. But you know they're not coming out till the air gets thick with gloom and doom because that's when they shine. That's the only time they stand out. If you just picture them sometimes as these little creepy things...the street lights shining down on them as they slowly crawl out into the cold, dank, wet air...

Yes indeed, they're just the Wings' little dementors. And we who've been here for awhile just have to keep working our patronus charms by using logic (?! and perspective (??!!).

GO, WINGS! GO, OZZIE! GO, D! GO, TEAM!!!

EXPECTO PATRONUM!!!!!!! :noevil:

In words of Henrik Zetterberg, this game was "disgusting".

And, in the words of Babcock, "Ozzie was hung out to dry"... which is absolutely true. The same way Conklin was hung out to dry in the 8-0 defeat in Nashville. You can't blame Ozzie for the loss. The game was a carbon copy of the game in Nashville and even Conklin couldn't do anything about it. Two different goalies; Same outcome.

A top 10 goalie would feel good, but it won't fix the team's defensive struggles. However, if they're going to play like they have no idea what the word "defense" means, I suggest letting Hossa go and getting that top 10 goalie, because that's what they're going to need with that type of play.

On the other hand, why didn't Babcock take Osgood out after 3-4 goals? If for nothing else than to not hurt his stats?

Tsk tsk.... Gotta watch that Logic Thing.... <_<
