MORE LIKE OSBAD. Worst goalie in the nhl (history?). THIS DEFENSE IS SO LAZY. FALLING ALL OVER THE ICE giving up 5 on ZEROS. there were no fights and we got manhandled all over the ice. Soft euros we need some TOUGH BOYS TO RUN RAMPANT ALL OVER THE ICE. LEBDA AND SAMMY SUCK. Babcock messed the lines up and our pk and pp was atrocious. Seriously, this team is out in the first round!!!! The seasons over. The division is lost.

Oh, we won?

As for home ice advantage, Detroit is a veteran team. Does anyone honestly think these guys are intimidated by playing on the road? I hope we catch San Jose, but I'm not confident we will. At the end of the day, I don't think it has that much effect on our chances to win another title. There's no gaurentee we even meet up with them and it most likely wouldn't even go 7 games.

This team lives for the playoffs. The vets know when to raise their level of play. I am completely confident that we will see a return to our machine like play of last postseason. Our problems with intensity and apathy can be directly atributed to the regular season being meaningless. You can see it in the fans. You can see it in the players. It will all be different here in the coming weeks and months.

I'm not greedy. All I want is 16 lousy postseason wins.

On a side note....

Mindfly, are you serious? We won the game, and we played great. There is never going to be a "perfect" game. The other team is also full of professionals. They want to win too and they can make plays as well. It's a good thing you are a "fan" of a dynasty that consistantly wins around 75% of its games. Unfortunately, you don't appreciate it. It's kind of pathetic, really.

“I don’t care who plays Detroit, if (the Red Wings) decide they’re going to play that way, nobody’s going to beat them. Nobody’s going to beat them in a (playoff) series if they’re going to play that way. Teams are going to be lucky to win games against them.

“They played a deliberate game. They played with work ahead of skill, and when you have their skill level, it’s pretty devastating if you’re the opposition.”

-Columbus coach Ken Hitchcock after losing to the Wings 4-0 yesterday.

You know, it's a good thing Hitch ditched the mustache. I swear to God when I saw him coaching before I saw a team being coached by Captain Kangaroo.

Congrats to the boys for bringing another 100-plus point season to Detroit. That is a new record, and I'm betting it will continue as long as we have a team that can reach down and bring out games like yesterday. This is the team we knew they were capable of being.

LOL! I always thought Hitchcock looks like Captain Kangaroo too! All he's missing is the red jacket with the white piping!

True..true..by clinching a playoff spot..the Wings are simply counting the days untill the postseason starts...they can beat anyone in a seven game series..New Jersey may be our Stanley cup opponent this year..love to see Hossa,Hank,The Mule,Holmie and the Pavelmeister rattle Brodeur's cage !!

Ozzie's back. Tell a friend.

:thumbup:It is encouraging...however..with the league's worst save percentage..I am still not convinced yet..perhaps a couple more shutouts and 2 or less goals a game over the next 6 to 8 games and I will return to believer's status...

I don't care if the has the league's best or worst % (they don't matter) -- far more important is if he's helping the team win games. Which he has and is. Good enough for me.

Hitchcock has made similar statements about the Red Wings after a loss before. When he coached Philly, he said something about how hard it was to play at Joe Louis Arena. Something to the effect of, "When I coached Dallas, it took us years to learn how to even compete here, let alone win a game."

I'm thinking it's his way of motivating his team or possibly softening up the Wings in the event of a playoff matchup.
