One of my favourite memories is the fans chanting "We Want Roy!... We Want Roy!" after he got yanked in game 7 of the 2002 WCF :siren:

I'll take this opportunity to plug my Wings videos

From time to time someone will ask me what's different about the Wings or why are they so successful, beyond the drafting, players, system and coaches the most important reason I give them is the way the organization is truly run like a family business.

To me these videos even more than the cup ones exemplify the best quality's of the organization.

I get the chills every time I watch this video. I tear up a little everytime. That is the red wings I love and grew up on. Players like Vlady is the reason I love the wings for life.

Great topic BTW some excellent memories.

Some good videos posted. I'll never forget the OT Yzerman goal posted, nor the hilarious statue of liberty that led to the Wings 2002 cup and demise of the Avs in a series they should have won that game. So awesome that Roy's ego cost him the game, series, and the possibility of the cup. (just waiting someone to post the Wings/Avs brawls )

Or Fischer's revenge on Hartnell (Hartnell with a bloody face, the *****):

Fischer. :(

I was at that Chicago vs Wings game when the Wings scored 2 goals in like 34 sec then Datsyuk won the game in OT with like 1 sec left. Oh man me and my brother went to the restroom and thought we was gonna get jumped i was like 16 or so at the time. The fans were pretty dumb too i remember one guy saying "How's it feel to be in a real city.. where the people actually live in the buildings here" i was like wow... WOW.. lol but watching that Steve Yzerman tribute makes me miss him that much more :(

Wow, great thread - I had forgotten about a couple of them and really enjoyed watching the videos. Here are a couple of mine - I realized how good of a team the Red Wings are when I was trying to pick just a few "favorite moments". There are so many its hard to choose, but here's what I cam up with (a couple may have already been posted, I apologize if that's the case):

This one is pretty obvious and has probably already been posted. I didn't see it, but I just glanced through the posts and watched videos I had forgotten about.

Anyways, here's Yzerman's double OT winner against St. Louis in '96. Hands down my favorite goal of all time:

Corey Cross beating the snot out of Steve Ott smack dab in the middle of the Hockeytown logo at center ice. The reason I love this doesn't have much to do with Cross, rather the makeup of the team that year, the lack of a lot of things from the top down, etc. I remember watching this and for some reason it has stuck with me ever since:

Cleary's penalty shot in the playoffs against Calgary -- at the Joe. Listen too the place erupt - I remember watching this one as well with friends at school and almost jumping through the ceiling:

Konstantinov absolutely destroying Forsberg during game 3 of the Western Conference in 1997 (listed to the on ice talk the camera pics up towards the end of the clip -- you'll hear a very unhappy Martin Lapointe):

Game 4 of the 2007 playoffs against San Jose. Lang scores to tie it with :33 seconds left in regulation, then Schnider scores in OT to give the Wings the W on the road:

Shanny gets 500 vs. Patrick Roy and the Avs

Downey's payback to Ian Laperierre for his hit on Lidstrom. This game in general was awesome (minus Lidstrom's injury), you had Babcock about to jump the benches to get at Granato, a couple beautiful goals courtesy of Hank and co., and of course this:

Finally -- I couldn't find a video of just what I was looking for, so here is this. I will never forget Dallas Drake, a guy who had been around for ages playing as hard as he could day in and day out no matter what team he was on, or where they were in the standings, finally getting a chance to raise the cup. The look on his face is definitely something that I will remember fondly -- he was beyond happy, he had literally achieved what he had only dreamed of:

Bobby Lang saves our asses

That was such an important goal. It got the Wings close to the Cup that year and really laid the groundwork for last year's Cup. If Lang doesn't score and the Wings go down 3-1, they probably lose that series and go out in the second round after going out in the first the year before.

Here's one of my favorites. Never been able to find a good quality version of it:

I can't find video, (maybe someone reading this can help) but who remembers when during game 7 vs the Avs in 02, when the game was clearly out of reach, the Joe started playing neil diamond's "sweet caroline"? Carolina had already clinched a their spot in the SCF.....goosebumps.

Game 6 of the 2002 playoffs. Dom stood on his head and the famous statue of liberty goal. Nothing better (except for game 7 of course)

That game always gets me thinking. Down 3-2 going into Colorado, that was scary
