No, but did you miss the point where I pointed out that I was doing nothing outside of the norm per non-Wings? What happens if Tootoo was traded to the Wings? If they've been consciously holding back from the physical play for self-preservation purposes only, then all will be forgiven if they bring that kind of play in the playoffs. Now the fact that he doesn't make as much money as some of the other goalies, we should all lower our expectations? If that's the case, then please, overpay for Luongo et al. He's still being paid millions and is still expected to play like an NHL goaltender. Osgood's numbers aren't even good enough for the ECHL. Funny how you cut out the part about buying a $18,000 Chevy Cavalier and expecting it to be a $55,000 Cadillac. I wish life really worked like that. It's something the Chinese government would say...."it's ok to criticize the US, but not us." Hell, there were doctored photos of Manny Legace with a noose around his neck when he was waived. You're right. This isn't Let's Go Preds. Let's be a bit more intelligent than them and not filter material just because it is negative about (suspected) favorite players. You may notice a significant amount of negative posting regarding Osgood in this thread. Don't paint it as "censorship" or removal of material "just because it is negative." This isn't Communist China where nobody is allowed to criticize. You had it right earlier: it was the phrasing I didn't like, because it was inappropriate. I can understand laying off for the majority of the season given the fact that their talent has carried them, but that physical play (which they've done well today) will absolutely be necessary after this coming week. But since all you can do are look at stats, rather than look at the team losing as a whole, which greatly affects a goalie's "stats" (particularly on this team when they give up so many great opportunities on few shots), it's easy to dismiss you just like last season when all you can do is complain. I am not going to lie and say the defense has been up to par this year. Lets take a gander at the stats 3.18 GAA for Osgood. Everyone says that GAA has to do with the D which I can agree with, then people say the true way to measure a goalie is SV%. This is where ozzy has .884 WHERE OZZY IS DEAD LAST. My point is, it's stupid to allow (on the boards and not just the GDT) people to wish/joke about death or permanent injury for players on other teams and then freak out when it's said about one of our players. I'm just pointing out the double-standard. As I said, people in China can and do criticize the US. Where the similarity lies here is that China won't allow for self-criticism in the same manner. What makes it inappropriate to say it about Osgood but fine with Tootoo? Therein lies the hypocrisy. I'm not trying to be a pain in the ass. Just pointing out it's a bit of a foolish double-standard. Brilliant. Maybe you should try just being happy your team is going into the playoffs and bitching when the team falters and loses out in the playoffs because of whatever. I mean, I have a feeling logic is well beyond your scope of wisdom here, but I'm sure you're going to feel rather weird when people actually start bitching if the Wings lose out of the playoffs and rightfully so.
