GROwl 5 Report post Posted April 17, 2009 For those of you who watched the game on FSN last night, did you catch the commentary that Ken Daniels/Mickey Redmond said about the bathrobes that Jason Williams bought for the Columbus team? Apparently they were BlueJacket blue (!) and had their names/numbers stiched on them. Ken said that the team was very appreciative. Does anyone else think this was really, really strange? I don't think I'd accept a bathrobe given to me by my teammate. As a matter of fact, I would move my stall as far away in the lockerroom from him as I could get. Mickey said that someone in Calgary did this a few years ago too.

Drake_Marcus 890 Report post Posted April 17, 2009 Clearly Jason was trying to send his team the following message: Stop walking around the locker room naked after showering.
55fan 5,133 Report post Posted April 17, 2009 Maybe they are like those robes boxers wear when going into the ring. Or something. I wouldn't worry too much about the bathrobes. Blue Game Day Thong- I'd worry.

Guest Shoreline Report post Posted April 17, 2009 (edited) What's so strange about that? Sounds like a nice gesture. It's like, totally strange man. It works like cooties. If Williams touched the private areas of the robe, and a Jacket touched that part of the robe with his privates, it's like Williams is a pervert touching other teammates' privates! That's a biiiig nono to anyone who is a homophobe logical. Obviously Williams is ***. Edited April 17, 2009 by Shoreline
Rice 42 Report post Posted April 17, 2009 No one remembers this? Those robes were huge in Carolina that year.

Vincanni 1 Report post Posted April 17, 2009 The funniest part to me was how Mickey mentioned the size a robe would need to be to cover Hitchcock, saying he weights 400 pounds.

cusimano_brothers 1,655 Report post Posted April 17, 2009 The real beauty of this is that a player can wear it on the street and nobody will notice them.

These are grown men not little junio high schoolers who are afraid of being called homosexual. I don't care what anyone says, there is nothing more comfortable after a shower or just before bed if your a little cold than a quality robe. I will gladly accept one as a gift from a man or woman. I mean it's not a huge deal, but having some robes around would at least make showering less awkward for the people sitting around taking off there gear that happen to be at junk level.
