aflac9262 211 Report post Posted April 22, 2009 We really, REALLY need a new goalie. The team is playing oustanding and he's killing all our momentum. This has to be so tough for Sharks fans to watch. All us LGWers know what these first round troubles feel like. 2003 and 2006, years to forget. The Presidents Trophy sucks too lol Well I guess it's only good when you win the Cup along with it, but most of the time it feels like you've been cursed and have won a free target on your back. Xitium 272 Report post Posted April 22, 2009 The best part about the Blues being swept out is the clinching goal in OT. A brutally weak goal for Mason to let in.

It is especially when you have lost complete confidence in your goalie, the Vezina candidate from last year. RockyMountainWingGal 108 Report post Posted April 22, 2009 We need a new goalie next year. I said that a few weeks ago too. Things change fast. Nabokov is pretty good goalie - but if the Sharks cannot turn this around - I would maybe look at a fire sale.......
hmmthesharks 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2009 Well, I can live with that if they do as the 2003 wings did I could definitely watch the guppies go belly up for the next half decade Well the same path except for the belly up part. They definitely need to make big chances in the offseason. Shake the team up! I said that a few weeks ago too. Things change fast. Nabokov is pretty good goalie - but if the Sharks cannot turn this around - I would maybe look at a fire sale....... I was actually thinking about it the other day, and if we are somehow able to keep Nabby as a backup (I highly doubt he'd be okay with that) and find another goalie to make our main goalie, it'd be great. I'm just not sure who we would try and get...Khabibulin would be great but our cap size will not be able to handle that A Nabby-Khabibulin combo would be my dream! Someone said the last offseason if the Sharks don't get to at least the WCF this season, Dougie will lose his job. Hold onto that promise, please.

I must be older than you, 1994 and 2001 weren't so nice either. Plus we had the entire 80s...... decade to forget. Sharks never had a 40 year Cup drought - they don't know what suffering is! What about getting a second viable goaltender and giving Nabokov some rest during the regular season? He's generally used far too much in the regular season. It seems few goalies are able to start 60+ games and perform at a top level in the playoffs. Many successful goalies in the playoffs are either rookies playing out of their mind, or guys who pretty much evenly split their regular season duties with their "backup." Not a superstar (or rookie who had a great season and will, therefore, implode next season), but someone who can win enough games to keep the team in good position. RockyMountainWingGal 108 Report post Posted April 22, 2009 I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but our series is still going and we went up 3-0 on dallas last year and that went six just don't wanna count my chickens before they hatch Columbus is done like burnt toast. The WCF Stars team was much better and PO hardened than this Jackets team. It's like boys vs. men out there. I usually do not get too haughty about the Wings winning a series, but I have seen absolutely nothing from the Jackets which indicates they could turn this into a series. Not a superstar (or rookie who had a great season and will, therefore, implode next season), but someone who can win enough games to keep the team in good position. Conklin would be a good fit for SJ. They play a very similar style to Detroit, and he's good enough to provide both pressure for the starting job on your starter, and provide quality backup goaltending when you rest your #1. Not being too familiar with their salary situation, how far against the cap is SJ projected to be?
