zettie85 106 Report post Posted April 23, 2009 (edited) Best. Centennial. Ever. Did they boo the American Anthem? There was hints of booing in the crowd for game 3 but im not sure about tonight? betterREDthandead 58 Report post Posted April 23, 2009 Someone still needs to take care of the Bruins soon though. As long as I'm living in New England surrounded by Boston fans I can't be having these Boston teams winning championships. It makes me barf.
mjlegend 155 Report post Posted April 23, 2009 I wouldn't be surprised to see Gainey either fired or moved to a different position... They have roughly 1,489 RFAs and UFAs to sort out this year. If they fire him, they're in a bigger mess than they are now. If I'm the Habs president, I give him one more offseason to see if he can't fix this.
shadow47 1 Report post Posted April 23, 2009 I read Price pulled a "Roy" in cheering back and raising his arms at the crowd when they Bronx cheered him.
kylee 727 Report post Posted April 23, 2009 There was hints of booing in the crowd for game 3 but im not sure about tonight? Prolly though. They are so classy there. wow... that makes me like Canadien fans even less.. that's beyond disrespect. even don cherry said something negative about it. if you're a Canadian team/fanbase and you get to hear it from don cherry...thats when you know you really messed up! whitneydatsyukrox 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2009 I read Price pulled a "Roy" in cheering back and raising his arms at the crowd when they Bronx cheered him. Yup, it was completely identical to Roy's moment Too funny. But Montreal fans are ruthless, I almost felt badly for the poor guy. He definitely wasn't as good as he needed to be, but Montreal's problems run sooo much deeper than goaltending.
interminded 1 Report post Posted April 23, 2009 Best. Centennial. Ever. Did they boo the American Anthem? They boo-ed just about everything. The team, Carey Price, Gainey, Montreal, Quebec, Tim Hortons, Patrick Roy, the NY Yankees, Bud Light, Jay Leno, the Icecapades, Seinfeld, slow elevators, taxes and Boris Yeltsin. And Chris Osgood... but that's pure jealousy.
Guest Four Report post Posted April 23, 2009 Thread starter has a fitting user name to sum up Montreal's post season. Aahaha, didn't even realize that myself! And I'll have to see this Price incident since I was puking yesterday and was in my room only looking at the score on nhl.com
russianswede919293 95 Report post Posted April 23, 2009 Too bad, I was hoping they could put a run together, since my whole family are Habs fans. They really were missing Markov on the point, they looked horrible defensively all round.

Z Winged Dangler 2,082 Report post Posted April 23, 2009 au revoir les habitants! canadiens fans dont deserve to watch playoff hockey if they're gonna get after a 21 year old goalie like that. atleast us wings fans back up ozzie...and all of joe louis was chanting ozzie after every save so he know's they're behind him, despite what that cocksuckerface columbus journalist says. Steve Mason's weak link is the jersey he wears! i hope the bruins sweep through the east. and i hope if the wings play vancouver in the 2nd round they sweep them too! its hard being canadian and hating 4 of the 6 canadian teams and losing all hope in ottawa. calgary is the only canadian worth giving any cheer. meh...go wings! Dawgs 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2009 Montreal never had a chance with the injuries they had. Montreal fans are the Philly fans of Canada. Lemaire and Riseborough may end up in the mix in Montreal.
Guest Shoreline Report post Posted April 23, 2009 (edited) The Habs were lucky to even stay in the playoff hunt. I think Florida would have done better. Maybe 4-1. Neither team in all honesty stood a chance against the Bruins. They are just a damn good team. Edited April 23, 2009 by Shoreline
DRW Dominance 255 Report post Posted April 23, 2009 The fans are ridiculous. They boo Price meanwhile he had no chance on 3 of the goals and the other was an offside breakaway. Former jacket gm Doug McClean had a story about fans in Quebec that don't even STAND for the Canadian national anthem at a juniors game. They are completely brutal. SDavis35 140 Report post Posted April 23, 2009 (edited) I think this is the first decade in which Montreal failed to win a cup, their longest drought since the league began. Edited April 23, 2009 by SDavis35
Drake_Marcus 890 Report post Posted April 23, 2009 The Habs were lucky to even stay in the playoff hunt. I think Florida would have done better. Maybe 4-1. The sad thing for Panthers fans is that both teams ended up with identical W-L-OT but Flordia ended up with the better goal differential. Soooo the Pathers missed the playoffs based on Montreal having more points in the head to head series. That's the 3rd option in the tie-breaking procedure... the fourth was better goal differential. So basically, the Panthers missed the playoffs by such a close margin that it came down to the order in which the apply the tie-breaking procedure. That's pretty damn close.
