Apparently Ken Hitchcock posts on HFboards too. I didn't know this. But check it out:

Seriously....what?

Umm, Mr. Hitchcock? It was pretty obvious...

I look forward to Nash and Mason suiting up for Canada in a few days. :)

I understand that Jackets fans are upset about the loss. It was a tough game for them to take but I just can't stand that they attack the city of Detroit. Detroit (like a lot of cities) has some problems, however, a lot of the things that were said about Detroit are just negative stereotypes that simply are not true.

I live in Detroit and I'm currently working on an urban planning degree at Wayne State and I know about Detroit better than most people. Although it looks bad now, Detorit is going to have a great future. The geographic location (being on the Detroit River, boardering Canada, etc.) and pre-WWII street grid/city layout and great universities in the area means Detroit will continue to play a prominent role in the nation for decades to come.

Btw downtown Columbus is something like 70% parking lots.

At the Hitchcock comment:

While we are at it why don't we just not allow the goal to stand since there was no other goals in the 3rd and it looked destined for OT maybe the refs should have called something so obvious off, perhaps we can also tweak the Earth's axis and tear a hole in the space-time continuum for Hitchcock.

Good post.

This thread is on a short leash, it's begging to be closed.

please for the love of God close this POS already.

It isn't bad enough that us Wings fans have the reputation of looking down on other fans but this thread proves it for all to see.

OF course the CBJ have some bad fans, so DO THE WINGS and most of the Wings fans grew up around hockey. Get over yourselves.

Game and series are over with. Everone needs to just drop this. Specially us wings fans. Let the "bluejacket hockey" fans talk. so far a couple of the bj fans that have been here have been respectable. and my hats off to you respectable BJ fans.

But we are done with the BJs and shouldn't give two s***s what they think anymore. We all know that the refs let the guys play hockey. And the BJs played the puck with 6 guys on the ice.

Now... Bring on the Nucks or Ducks.

As for the HF boards you only need remember one thing, it is where Top Shelf hangs his hat. :flush:

Throw the teams and result in reverse last night, I guarantee you plenty of Wings fans in here would be complaining and being bitter just as badly for a call against your team with just about a minute left in the game. If I were a Blue Jacket fan, I'd rightfully be a little pissy as well with the outcome, regardless of if the call was right or not.

EDIT: Does that excuse throwing projectiles on the ice after the call and the loss? Absolutely not. But the perception of some posts in here that us Red Wings fans would act with perfect behavior in the same situation if it happened to the Wings is pretty funny.

come on guys... dont generalize. there are plenty of gracious blue jackets fans out there. It was an awesome game and jackets fans are just upset after losing in a really close hard fought game.

my personal opinion on the penalty... it was a penalty! no doubt they had 6 guys. when its that close it is something that a ref could let go in that situation. an interference or slash is different than a bench minor. but we cant call it a "bad call". its just a tough way to lose and to say "Jackets fans went in classless and will go out classless" is generalizing things a bit from what a few fans might have had to say.

PS and i wish the fans had not thrown stuff on the ice, thats not a cool move.

good series and good luck to the wings throughout the playoffs. come to bluejackets247.com if you want to talk to some good jackets fans, a lot of fans on HF boards are crazy

I see your point, but on the other hand let's say they do let it go and Jackets enter the zone with a lot of speed and score, I guarantee there would be a lot more controversy there. Its merely about space and setting up a fore check and what not. If he does not play that puck like he should not have the puck goes an extra 10 maybe more feet before he can play it and that allows a team to set up more. That extra space can be pivotal for both teams. Either way, its a sad way to lose a hockey game because of a mental mistake like that. They will learn from it and they will be back in the future. Good luck in the off season and beyond, just not against the wings haha.

Oh, so you don't call any penalties with under two minutes to go? I bet those BJ fans would be saying something different if someone like Homer interfered with Mason with under 2 to play. Stupid fans deserve what they got. All the trash talking before the series even started. They started classless and will go down classless.

Agreed

1. Babcock - A polite suggestion, shut up. Do not have the arrogance to stand there in your post game conference and lecture Columbus fans. Your own fans did the same thing not long ago, no not the thing against Chicago, on Tuesday night they threw trash on the ice. Just because it is your thing does not make it right. AND yes, I do hold you responsible because you want to act high and mighty about it.

2. The Call - B.S. There is no arguing this. The officials put away the whistles for much of the game last night and ignored actual physical penalties. Then they called something that was not "automatic." Sure, the Jackets gave up the goal, but they should not have been in that position. The linesman reacted on instinct, and screwed up. If the officials are unhappy about the trash, they brought it on themselves. Consistency - look it up, it will stop that crap.

3. People throwing stuff - Unless its a hat trick, don't throw anything. Seriously, lay off the stupid juice earlier in the game. Pound the glass, boo, but don't throw bottles, cups, or seafood. Yeah, the officials are horrible, this ain't news.

4. CBJ - Could we possibly play like that during every playoff game next year? Something happened and they finally got it. They play like that the first three games, and even if they lost nobody is to blame.

5. Wings fans in 223, Row E - You guys were classy, and I thank you for it. You knew how to act, when to cheer, and when to shut up. I hope you had a good time and enjoy the rest of your team's run.

From the hfboards, number 2 made me lul.

I'm actually surprised that on this board LGWers are talking bad about BJ fans because of some comments made by a handful of idiots.

Show some respect guys/gals.

I am glad the rest of the world doesn't base their opinions on wings fans because of lgw... or wait, do they? is that why everyone hates the Wings and everything associated with them

all we have to do is think back to the call that gave the 'hawks the penalty shot at the end of the game to win it for them... s*** happens and yes this board was up in arms for it AND it was only a useless regular season game..... I don't blame the fans one bit for being a little upset. Although the bulk majority of the blames needs to fall on the useless BJ's PK attempt

What you said and what So. Wings Fan said. Who says we'd mostly react with grace and calmness under the same circumstances? NO way.

And if I'm in an "enemy" arena, flailing a very large flag back at their fans I think I'd best be smart enough or quick enough to duck, dodge and weave with dexterity. You're only asking for it when you do that. Period.
