Mors 201 Report post Posted April 28, 2009 Caps and Devils. (Go Wings vs. Caps finals!) Ew no please...trust me, I live in the area, and they're still incredibly bitter about 98.
dat's sick 1,002 Report post Posted April 28, 2009 I picked the Rags and Canes in 7 before the playoffs started.. but now I don't know. It will take a miracle performance by Lundqvist for the Rags to win, and I think he's too tired to pull another one of those off. Besides, it would be a waste if the Rags won. They'd never be able to shake the Bruins. The Caps have a bigger chance of doing some damage, and I'd rather see them come out of the East than the Pens or Bruins. Canes/Devils could really go either way. I'm predicting OT in that game.
StevieY9802 6 Report post Posted April 28, 2009 Anyone else hoping for an Original 6 SCF? Only every year. Stupid Canes ruined my dreams in 02. Looking at the schedule they are both on VS tonight and CBC has nothing. That sucks. I'm guessing after the Caps/Rangers they go over to NJ/CAR if it's still going on. GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted April 29, 2009 The Canes/Devils series was the best series of the playoffs, bar none. That series saw all kinds of wild finishes and overtime games. Unfortunately, I think this gives Boston an easier matchup than what they would have had against the Pens. I don't see Carolina beating them. Also, what's with Brodeur sucking in the playoffs the last few years?
Jersey Wing 1,521 Report post Posted April 29, 2009 I just got back from the Prudential Center for game 7. WOW, what an UTTER collapse by the Devils. They need to face facts that Mr Everything Martin Brodeur gave up TWO brutal goals, the first one and the last one. No longer can he be considered the end all and be all. I was on the club level first row at the end where Carolina scored both late goals to win. First off, big ups to Tim Gleason for holding the puck in on a diving effort for the Hurricanes on the tying goal. Great play by him especially after he easily could have been the goat for taking a four minute high sticking penalty in the third period. So, the Devils cough up two games late in the series and head out golfing on the same day as the Rangers. This was strange tonight but worth a mention. The Devils fans are hyper-aware of everything the Rangers do. When the scoreboard showed the Rangers and Capitals were tied in the third it got a ho-hum from the crowd (and this was between the seconfd and third period of the New Jersey game with the Devils up 3-2). The Capitals went up 3-2 on Fedorov's goal and they showed it and the crowd went wild. They went even wilder when that score went final. I looked around at them like DUH, what's the matter with you people? I know you hate the Rangers but if the Devils win (and they were leading) AND the Rangers win, the Devils get home ice vs Pittsburgh while New York would play Boston. I was like "Would you rather have the Rangers lose or have a better chance at the cup?" Apparently tonight they'd have rather had the Rangers lose. In the end it didn't matter but for a while I wanted to shake them like a baby on an iPhone application.
