If you can score goals like he can (both quality and quantity) you have the right to celebrate however you want.

I wonder if the same people complaining now complained when Theo Fleury celebrated like he did in the early nineties or when other guys rode their sticks like horses?

The thing he needs is to grow up a little. Once he becomes more "touchable" and learns that his body isn't infallible, he'll chill out.

Not that I hate Ovechkin. I don't. However the Russian extreme Nationalism that he has disgusts me, not that I have a problem with pride for your Country but He just has a air of ******* about him. Like the Kinda guy that would not use his turn signal.

I watched the video again after reading your comment, and I didn't see anything that could have possibly brought your comment on. What "extreme Russian nationalism"?

No doubt he's an amazing player, and no doubt his "child-like" antics aren't traditional hockey; but i see a deeper Ovechkin.

Alex has been in love with hockey since he was a child. Children are care free, easily excited, they over embellish, they play dirty, they're a bit ignorant and arrogant, they're a bit cocky, they do what they love and nothing else, they're children is what i'm trying to say. (Does anybody see the connection i'm trying to make yet?)

Ovechkin hears that his brother's died in a car accident and what do his parents tell him? They say "Alex, do what you love!" His brother was the one he looked up to, naturally. He was his role model and he was the epitome of what he wanted to be. Alex was traumatized and his dad telling him to just always do what he loves stuck in his head. He played that hockey game, and he kept playing hockey.

Ovechkin is still a kid. Ovechkin will always be a kid. Love him or hate him that's Ovechkin and that's my take on him.

I've always like AO, but this year he's been a little over the top for me. The media hype, the over-the-top celebrations (some of the them very classless imo).

I'm not even watching the Pens-Caps series because the media is so gung-ho about the Crosby vs. Ovie thing. I don't really care who wins.....

Ovie is exactly what the NHL needs. I want him in Detroit more than anything.

I doubt it'd work. As much as I love Ovie, it's plain to see that he has an ego. The Wings will never tolerate big egos in the locker room.
