TSM 0 Report post Posted May 9, 2009 I hope, for the sake of the team that 'kader does well, but to keep dumping on these guys shows just how fickle the Wings fan base is. Maltby, Draper, Kopecky, Meech, Sammy, and others that get ragged on in these forums all play a major role in the Wings team. I hear no one complaining when these players score goals, make assists, deliver big hits, and stop scoring chances for the other team. All in all, shut up! Enjoy the game. And be a real fan. AMEN! I've never understood the pure malice from some of our fanbase in terms of how good or bad a player is when they forget to recognize that these guys play in the NHL as compared to some scrub weekend league. I get tired of the fickleness around here, especially pertaining to guys like Draper and Maltby who were INTEGRAL to our attaining the first three cups in the past 12 years. I will admit, I am not a fan of Koper and feel there are better players who are with the organization that can bring a lot more to the 4th line. But I do hope he gets better. Hope he gets better and the Wings have a long run, so maybe he can come back. I'm fine with plugging in other 4th liners in his place - just feel bad for the guy. When I say I love my team, I mean that I love my team. Not "I love Hank, Datsyuk, Hossa, and Lidstrom." I mean when Wisniewski or Gonchar got hurt everyone was like "That's too bad. You can't have scoring like Datsyuk and Zetterberg all the way down to your 4th line, but he's got heart and he's wearing the Red Wings uniform. And you never hear of Kopecky making any mistakes out there, until this fight, but it's not the fight I think is a mistake, it was the not throwing punches and protecting himself. He knows that better than anyone, though. Abdelkader should be good for us on the 4th line, though. So he got caught off guard and it was too late to correct. but hey, screw him, right? maybe his career will be ended by this, so all you people won't have to worry about Holland resigning him. I would like Holland to resign him for league minimum or something close to it. He serves his purpose as a 4th liner. I mentioned earlier that I think Abdelkader might be a downgrade to Kopecky. I havnt seen much of Abs play, but Kops was doing a fine job out there. I am sad that he got his face broken, and I hope he has a speedy recovery (and puts on some weight to those big bones too).
